Song #3 — This was the week I got to get my head split open about synthesizers! Basically got a 40 minute crash course on Operator and Analog and then told to, "Go forth! Make a dance tune!"

I love synthesizers. It's the DJ in me — I get to twiddle knobs and make funny noises, what's not to like? And arpeggios! Give me all that and C major and out poops a magical Zelda-like sparkle pony piece such as this one.

909 Groove

I wrote this song for my Berklee Online final project, but it's been a song that's been in my head for the last six months. It popped in my head at Burning Man one morning. 

I played the completed song today and I actually got really emotional. This is huge for me...It's the first time I've been able to produce a song I've heard in my head.  So many years songs have flown in and out and I've never been able to actually grab one and make it real. 

I'm really thankful and grateful and SO EXCITED to keep going. There's lyrics that go with it as well, looking forward to recording those and working on the mix in the coming months.

Oh yeah, mixing :-P. LOL. That will probably be my next Berklee class ;)

Where Are You Now (Early Instrumental Edit)

So I consider this really my first start to finish song. Singing, producing, editing, mixing, mastering — first song I've done all by myself. But not without amazing inspiration and help. So grateful for everyone's really mindblowing support and advice.  I love being able to connect with my friends and coworkers on a whole new level by making songs. It's a slog at times, but nothing worth having comes easy. I think creators know that the most intimately. 

Shout outs to Casey, Allen, Erica, JC, Leo, Martin, Darrell, Will, Alex, Flip, Francis, Gino, Mark, Julia, Sarah, Pierre, Michael, Dan, Dave, David, Paul, Erik, Scott, Josh, Scott, Ichi, Darrin, Mike, JD... I mean it goes on and on how many people have inspired me and asked about my progress and cajoled me to "JUST FINISH THE DAMN THING!" I'm excited for the next project and looking forward to sharing the process with you. It keeps me going, seriously. Thank you.
