There will never be the right words for this, and anything I say will never honor him enough, but I’ll try my best. 

I loved Justin almost as much as he loved music. He felt it in every fiber of him. I used to make fun of how he would literally “hold” a kick in his hands while he two stepped the night away in a warehouse with me, until one night I told him it felt like the kick was traveling from the floor, up my legs, and out of my heart into my hands. 

I have never felt more fulfilled by anything than being involved in helping Justin build CAVIAT. The pride and joy he felt behind decks was immeasurable in comparison to the love and pure delight I got from watching him do what he loved the most. Once he started producing, we would sit in his apartment together while I worked with separate headphones on, every once in a while trading headsets to get my opinion on a new verse he laid down while I showed him the newest techno track I was stuck on. He kept the labradorite I bought him on top of his Push. I called it his “techno, go-to-the-moon rock.” 

I thank the universe time and time again for letting him into my life, and for him letting me into his world and heart. I was his partner, and his partner in crime. I will forever miss dancing with you, CAVIAT.

This is a Guest Mix made by artist MNEIKO in honor of a member of our community that passed away, whose name was Justin and he went by the artist name CAVIAT. We want the title to be as it is in the title of this task.

This mix is not just a collection of tracks; it's a tribute to an individual who even in the darkest of times, made a significant impact on the lives he touched. It also embodies the love, passion, and shared dreams we experienced during the time we spent together.
