Probably someone who never crossed paths with this little iron creature. 

A sad robot, driven by gears that force him to repeat, again and again. 
One hammer blow. 
Two turns of the key. 

Three sparks that snap and spit. 
Four motions... without a thought.
Every day, the same dance. 
In the rain, the same sorrow.

His thoughts rumble inside metal that strikes, echoes, thunders, jams and grinds.

Arper with his most immersive work to date, pulls us into the mind of this weary robot — just for a fewminutes — through a soundscape of ambient melancholy and introspection. 

The music drags, slow and heavy, mirroring the rusted figure, bent under the weight of time. The reverb bounces off the soaked walls of this city that holds us captive.

It makes sense: the little robot is tired — more and more each day… 

But he won’t give up.

This is my first piano ambient song. It's emotional track that reminds you there is always exit from any difficult situation and everything is perfect, in right place because it's God's plan.

Hamburg homies Jakobus Siebels and Mense Reents make up the Die Vogel duo. The duo make some of the finest deep tech and phsyc house and have released together almost exclusively on Dj Koze and Marcus Fink’s Pampa records. Their name simply translates as ’the birds’ and the super talent multi-instrumentalists put on one hell of a live show, flying between the trombone, trumpet, flute and clarinet all glued together seamlessly with percussion and techno for good measure (obviously). 

Ahead of their upcoming set at The Social festival, the pair have dug deep for this mix. Putting their heads together and providing a selection that takes you on a  journey through house, techno, psychedelic rock and beyond. Press play!

“Instead of making a classic DJ mix, we rather combined acapellas and pieces that are close to our hearts with sketches of our own music. At our first meeting we listened to some vinyl records and some sessions that we had made a while ago with Alphorns and Steel Drums. We chose about 30 pieces and digitized some of them. Using different genres in the mix wasn't an issue. Mense collected all the material and assembled it on the computer. Part of the podcast are also two songs by some other bands of ours (NRFB and JaKönigJa).
To us, the mix has a nocturnal - urban and even a somewhat cinematic mood. So put on your headphones and leave the house! There's a lot to discover. Enjoy!”
