As a child, Rimjickles’ parents influenced his diverse taste in music. He grew up listening to everything from classic/alt/thrash rock to hip-hop. Being Chicago-based, he also heavily listened to freestyle. 

After being introduced to new genres from his music-torrenting cousin, his music tastes continued to evolve. 

During high school, Rimjickles stumbled upon Rusko’s “Terminator” in a YouTube compilation video and it changed his entire music perception of music. He became obsessed with 808’s. 

Although he loved 808’s, he began to gravitate toward chiller sounds—especially after discovering Tipper and the IDM genre. 

While some styles felt stale to him, the one thing he didn’t grow out of was digital “crate digging.”

Today, Rimjickles adopts a DJ’ing style that is focused on dubstep, halftime and DnB, but his diverse love of music continues to influence his progressive sound.
