As another pair of soulful musical expression and its reinterpretation
broadens MoBlack Records' catalog, the label adds another dense
layer to its already complex and rich carapace. L.A. based indieelectronic band Dear Humans, jumps on the afro house label's ship,
traversing a trajectory that stretches both the label's and artist's
breadth, and depth. Kidogo starts off cushioned in coarse earthy
elements, swiftly careened by a simple, steady bass line and budding
percussion. As the narrative sprouts and the marriage of melody and
rhythm illuminates, a colorful cornucopia becomes visible to sensory
capacities beyond the naked eye, narrated by emotional ejection as
delivered by Alex's vocal prowess: "when another one close the door,

"One more..." Italian duo Armonica returns to the label with their
reimagination of Alex & Corey's centerpiece, brushing a bit of
ruggedness and dancefloor sense and percipience from their tenure
in both DJing and production. Never losing grip of the vim and vigor
at the original's core, Armonica's remix, more tenacious in speed,
ambitious in timbre, enhances Kidogo's mobility and moves freely
into all doors unlocked by bodies in the state of dance.

“El Tiempo” is an Afrohouse made with a drum machine, an acoustic bass, an African
balafon, a very sentimental guitar, subtle synthesizers, very enveloping violins with
harmonies made from the heart, the touch of a soul voice, set in a apocalyptic world and
with the final touch: the innocent voices of children echoing in our ears and our conscience.
     "Time is passing and there is no turning back," says the lyrics of this song based on the
scriptures. When “Manybeat” made this song, he was thinking about the warning that the
earth is giving us. Wars, pandemics, natural disasters, the selfish business world and life
itself is giving us a sign of something much greater: "A great tribulation."
      The faith of man is diminishing and the voices of "the children" warn us that we can
become aware of all these matters if we pay attention to our surroundings and the
prophecies.
      This is a track that reaches the soul with its incredible tones. When deejays around the
world touch it, they are going to make the audience stunned and think about how to
improve their lives; that it is time to embrace our children, our friends, our family and
implore God to intervene in the land that we ourselves are destroying with our selfishness.
     "I'm here" says the chorus of male voices, giving a touch of responsibility to this work.
As we dance and sing "El Tiempo" it gives us a loving blow to the heart, and that is the
main purpose of this track according to its creator "Manybeat".

MBR404: Bonga - Mona Ki Ngi Xica (Pablo Fierro Remix)

As the earth’s axial tilt switches gears, Canary Islands born and bred virtuoso Pablo Fierro
returns to MoBlack Records and resurrects the iconic Mona Ki Ngi Xica by none other than the
African revolutionary Knight, Bonga. A versatile and accomplished dj/producer, Tenerife’s
musical prodigy parses the 70’s original, injecting a bit of pep into its step to pique the soulful
danceability out of the legendary Angolan folk and semba singer/songwriter, born Jose Adelino
Barcelo de Carvalho’s saudade-saturated and politically charged requiem. Nestled in Latin
infused rhythms and romantic acoustics, Bonga’s effusive rasp cracks Fierro’s crisp beats,
tropical groove and voltaic fusillades, rendering a delicate 5:39 minute sojourn that captures and
retains the complexity of uncertainties from its time or any other, for that matter. Whether in
post/Colonial Angola where Mona Ki Ngi Xica was born, or within the exiled humanity of today,
MBR404 pins the universality of loneliness but handles it through curative motion all at once - a
perfect antidote for longing and no less importantly, soothing reprieve in any, even imagined,
