Moby on 'The Last Day':

“Spike had become friends with Skyler Grey a few years ago. When I first started working on the record, we were coming up with list of possible collaborators, and her name came up. Skyler just has a remarkable gift for lyrics and melody, and her voice has such a distinctive, beautiful quality. 

For ‘The Last Day,’ we collaborated on the lyrics and the performance: I wanted the vocal to have this specific, delicate vulnerability to it. The last thing I did to this song was add six tracks of Sonic Youth/Glenn Branca-style feedback: I put in earplugs, did open tunings on some guitars, put them through two distortion pedals into the amp, and just recorded track after track of feedback to create this weird subsonic wash. In it, the loud feedback is mixed really quiet, which gives the song a kind of atmospheric space the song wouldn’t have otherwise.”

Sharooz: Ever since I heard 'Go', Moby has been one of my foremost musical inspirations. To be asked to remix him has been one of the biggest highlights of my career. With my mix, I wanted to do something more than just a straight-up dancefloor track. The nature of the song dictated something deeper, and as such I've sought to create a vibe that embodies that spirit.

Moby will release Destroyed Remixed on 30th April, a 2CD collection of remixes of songs from Moby's 2011 studio album, Destroyed.

including three new exclusive remixes by David Lynch, Holy Ghost!, and System Divine. The release also features a brand new 30 minute ambient track by Moby called 'All Sides Gone'.

Compiled and mixed by Moby, Destroyed Remixed features an eclectic mix of some the most exciting and interesting artists and DJ's in contemporary music. 

Disc 1, titled 'Big Room', includes two exclusive new remixes by Holy Ghost! ('Blue Moon') and System Divine ('The Low Hum'), plus remixes by artists such as Paul van Dyk, Kleerup, Basto!, Arno Cost, and Sasha. 

Disc 2, named 'Small Room', features Yeasayer, Photek, Ben Hoo, and a new remix of the single "The Poison Tree" by longtime friend and collaborator David Lynch and the new 30 minute ambient track by Moby. 

Destroyed Remixed will be available as a 2CD limited edition and numbered physical release and as a digital download.
