This track got me so deep in the mystic lounge! That flute was so trippy! Aaah! Just pierced my mind.

Dawntempo is my take on an alternate late night vibe...  when at the end of a night out, the sky is teasing purple, and people are ready to sit down to connect with friends they are faced with a choice… stay out, or head home.  If they can find a place where the vibes are chill, and there’s some comfy seating, then the party is elongated over smiles, laughter, and blissed out emotional beats.

And if the scene is just enticing enough… that critical mass makes it to sunrise to imprint their most magical highlight reel memories.

I believe (true) downtempo is a lost art and that this early morning slot is the perfect place for its triumphant return as people dance, cuddle or converse while FEELING beautiful bass music fueling forever friendships.

I've been known as the sunrise guy for years, but I've come to believe that it's really all about the dawn...

Opening night at Wonky Town was a vibe and a half, the space was a wonderland begging everyone to come play full to the brim with games, interactive installations, a cosy lamp lit lounge and all sorts of other shenanigans 

It was an honour and a privilege to play on a purpose built stage compliments of the festival and Fulcrum Designs in lieu of Sheila no longer being with us - May she forever rest in bass...

Also worth noting for full transparency and celebration of my musical journey that it was my first time performing live directly on the decks sans laptop and controller which was a whole new world in terms of convenience but all wrapped up in the kinda nerves I thought were behind me

Looking forward to continuing the learning process, experimenting with the weaving and manipulating of sound drawing inspiration from those in the know around me and as always with the highest level of gratitude and respect for the original creators

DRAGONFLY - TUMBLEWEED HOUSE & PRAIRIE BLUES

The Kootenay Yoga Festival was held on the unceded, traditional and ancestral territory of the Sinixt people in September, 2022. It was a beautiful gathering that brought together a diversity of local talent and skill for 2 days of learning and growing. It was an honour to be part of the festival and contribute in various ways. I played two sets over the weekend. One was an ecstatic dance and the other was an impromptu yoga class with my dear friend Shideh. This is the recording of the yoga set, which ended up being one of my favourite sets I played all summer. I rarely get to play all the slow and sultry music I love, let alone get to play it out as their makers intended. I loved playing Shideh's yoga class because of the laughter, playfulness, and non-judgment that she consistently invites into whatever space she holds. I also knew that she would be into the music I would play for her, so that made this experience that much more special. Thank you Shideh for inviting me to play for your class. <3
