Mike Parker is a heavy hitting Techno artist. The New Yorker pulls no punches, just delivers them in the form of powerful percussion and hypnotic harmonies. With two decades of experience behind him "Modulation Cave" was always going to be something special. The two tracker is born in the collapsing pressure of “Modulation Cave 1.” Bleary eyed bass bubbles and boils in this heated piece of late night Techno debauchery. Melodies creep while a battery of beats disintegrates nerve endings. The flip is occupied by the twin, “Modulation Cave 2.” The brother in arms is a calmer affair, but that cyclical tension is ever present. The steady percussion of the original is maintained with harmonies being sent beaming into space. Radio waves bounce from above, liquefied electricity leaking through to the world below. Cuerpo de Obsidiana" represents the continuation of Andy Martin's debut album, "Antiguos Astronautas", delving deeper into the mesmerizing blend of techno influences and the abstract essence of Latin and Caribbean rhythms, viewed through a futuristic sci-fi lens. The EP draws inspiration from the historical significance of Obsidian, a prominent material in Pre-Columbian civilizations' artwork. The artwork itself presents a futuristic, minimalistic reinterpretation of Obsidian artistry in our contemporary world.
