Tenampa Recordings has put out its fair share of stunning records in their time, with a host of the scene’s most established and clued-in names such as Rodriguez Jr, Dave Seaman, Chaim, Patrice Baumel, to name a few. Tenampa Essentials Volume 1, however, marks a big step, and all things considered it’s an EP that’s hard not to fawn over.
Featuring a host of cherry-picked emerging artists, it features numerous different sounds and styles, but crucially it’s all packaged together with the sort of quality we’d expect from the label. 

Yoni Yarchi & Tai Tager’s ‘Sirocco’ brings us the heart of the jungle in its own dizzying way, Nicolas Alisferi goes all melancholic on ‘Across the Universe’, while Marcos in Dub shows he’s no slouch with the brilliant Hookedub. Mattia Pompeo’s ‘Silencieux’ is a really crafty little number that kicks off the second half of the EP, before Danito & Athina impress alongside Someone Outside on the brilliant strands that comprise ‘Sparks’. Last - but certainly not least -we have Dark Soul Project’s ‘Night Pleasure’, a track that ups the ante thanks to its old -school capabilities vocal-wise.
