Burly, UK-styled rave tackle from Berlin’s Phon.O for Tectonic after spending the last few years exploring subsets of garage-techno on 50 Weapons. Clearly carving towards Tectonic’s ruder ‘floor criteria, he plays out the dank, shadow-boxing 2-step drums and swooping subs of Mercurial next to the aggier grime slap of U8 Phunk for the Berlin scallies, and yokes some splintered breaks into a submerged jungle-techno chassis with Bell Blender.

Leeds based producer and DJ Sourpuss has an unparalleled ability to craft genre-blending, downright naughty beats, and ‘Dance Music’ is a prime example. The raucous percussion contrasts against beautiful synths and a pounding bassline to create a mad, unique soundscape to capture the listener. 

On the flip is the remix from fellow Leeds boy Breaka, who shows exactly why he’s gained such a following so quickly. He keeps the charm of the Sourpuss production but sprinkles on some jungle and extra madness. 

Courtesy of Reform Records, who in their opening few releases have already shown they have a talent for discovering fresh talent, this release does not disappoint and bears the hallmarks of an instant classic which you’ll be hearing in all the dances for a long time to come.

Unser Danger Hunt mutiert. Mutieren aber hier im positiven Sinne, nicht was da draußen gerade rumschwirrt. Nach der Zwischenstufe iceloe hört er ab sofort auf den Namen hydroliiink und beschwört die verbindende Kraft des Wassers. Die musikalische Finesse bildet sich vor allem daraus, dass der Mix in 4 Akte aufgebaut ist. Von 105 bis 160 BPM bekommen alle Bassheads eine absurd gute Mischung aus verschiedenen Genres, die niemals den roten Faden verliert und so spielerisch vielfältig ist, wie wir das von seinen Sets kennen. Coolness hoch … sucht euch doch eine Zahl aus!
