The monthly "Clen's List" playlists comes from the great music that comes across on Soundcloud each month. Of course this wouldn't be possible without the work of all the producers, reposters, promoters, and suggestions from others, so thanks and big up to everyone out there sharing and producing these sounds.

Another goal of these lists is to promote the artists producing the tunes. There are some really incredible less known productions that float around and just don't wind up in the "spotlight". By including these productions in the lists, hopefully these great works get their time in the spotlight.

Look out for a new list around the end of each month.

P.S. Overtime the lists lose tracks that were originally included. I do not know if this is due to artists removing their tracks from Soundcloud (or the tracks get bought by a record company and then removed), or if there is another reason. Clen's List May 2016

Paul SG returns to Soul Deep with this new 3 track stunner.  The EP starts off strong with a classic amen roller called, "Xamplo".  The song is a classic from the golden Good Looking Records collection, but never got released.  It features jazzy riffs, a bouncing bassline, and an undeniable Amen Break.  The second track is a real stunner called, "Nothing Leads Nowhere".  The song is a new production from Paul and features a hi passed amen drum loop, laid back samples and a summer feeling groove that immediately puts the sunshine back into your life.  The third track, "Unusually Agitated", rounds out the EP in fine style.  The song features a heavy amen drum loop, chiming keys, and echoing efx that make this a dreamy masterpiece.

Mode:Funktion - You Got Me (OUT NOW @ Smooth'n'Groove)

Top level producer, DJ, and ONE7SIX owner, Blade delivers some wicked, one of a kind tunes to Smooth N Groove in his EP 'Russian Funk'.

Starting off with a deep groove, 'Russian Funk' is sure to hit listeners with its atmospherics and warms up listeners ears for what's to come nicely. Moving into the second tune, increasing the pressure with 'Baba Yaga' which continues to build and build the energy and incorporates some clever use of instrumentals. Afterwards, the third track 'FAY' steps in really giving a classic soul type feeling, and a track which has had those in the scene eagerly awaiting a release since its early support. Finally, closing out the EP 'Every Wish to Me' makes beautiful use with atmospherics building into a heavy bassline to keep you moving till the very end.

Very grateful to be releasing this EP, much looking forward to hearing these played out on the sound systems soon!

With the next release Atmomatix managed to find some new blood.

First track is from AudioSketch who had previous releases on some amazing labels as Med School,Soul Trader & Celsius Recordings.'Illusions' features some funky sounds,lovely female vocals and simple yet effecting drums this track reminds us a bit to the golden age of Studio 54 if it had been a D'n'B era.

Second one coming in is Revolutionist with the track 'Empty Heart' with a deep darker liquid vibe.Deep trembling sub bass,subtle drums and percussions and haunting vocal.

Aardonyx is another fresh duo on the label with their track 'Hologram'.This is another deep liquid track with some amazing rhodes-esque leads,hitting bass,lovely usage of musical elements and clean drums.

The last one is from resident Critical Event with his track 'Holding On To U' with some soulful keys & vocals,deep purring bassline,rolling drums with some simple percussions and mesmerizing string work.

Late November 2015
After doing 2 tracks and talking about doing much more of them,https://soundcloud.com/critical-event & https://soundcloud.com/davidbronski decided to create a project for their collaborations and go under the name of Mode:Funktion.

Together they locked 13 releases in 7 months so far and that's 2 EP's on Scott Allen's "https://soundcloud.com/soul-deep-recordings" ,Soul Heart is forthcoming on a various artists LP on the label from Jay Rome "https://soundcloud.com/blusaphir_records" and a single on "https://soundcloud.com/atmomatix-records" + an EP on "https://soundcloud.com/c-recordings" & they are working on their first LP which will get released on Atmomatix late 2016,and a tune forthcoming on the new label from Blueprint https://soundcloud.com/deconstructedhq,a EP on LM1's "https://soundcloud.com/offworldrecordings" + a EP at "https://soundcloud.com/sngrecs"and a few more in the pipeline.2016 seems to be a good year for this crazy duo!

Expect some deep & soulful drum and bass from these 2!
