Brighton based Van Der Funk (Andrew Whitwell) has a deep rooted history with analogue synths, resulting in one of Brighton’s finest collections evident in his sound and is influenced by the raw sound of Detroit Techno and Chicago House while staying true to his UK roots in bass music. Whitwell expanded his sound by working alongside Brighton legend DJ Krafty Kuts on an Acid infused bootleg of ‘Ritual Union’ by Little Dragon that hit festival PA systems around the world.

Whitwell stepped away from remixing and moved towards creating his own solo projects  and arrived onto the House scene inspired by the sounds of Berlin through remixing ‘Whoop’ by Cheets & began collaborating with the former Haçienda resident, creating their own take on Tech-House with their Debut E.P ‘MoogerFooger’ which was released on Fierce Animals Records in 2010.

Whitwell’s latest release ‘No More’ released on Numerology Records débuted on BBC Radio 1Xtra hosted by Monki while supported by Nemone, Sister Bliss, Hot Since 82 & Das Kapital.
