Premiere: AZARI ‘M-Body’ (Material Witness Mpathy Mix)

Toronto based DJ and producer AZARI has enlisted an eclectic group of genre-bending musicians to rework his track 'M-Body’ (ft. James Baley) off the latest LP ‘Atriarc’. Featuring American techno mainstays Katie Rex, In.PHrequent, and Material Witness, AZARI’s signature vocal works, minimal 808’s and deep bass provide a steady backdrop for this group of artists to work their magic. Released earlier this year on his label Model Future, a forward-thinking Canadian co-operative focused on pushing the exotic sound of the northern realms, 'M-Body' encapsulates the dark warehouse grooves that Azari has become known for.

The first track remix to appear on the EP is reworked by Brooklyn techno mainstay Katie Rex⁠—known for her explorative and influential LGBTQ+ party series, BOUND and her mind-melting dark techno sets at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Rex helps transform M-Body into something wholly unique within the industrial landscape. Hawaiin house mainstays and John Digweed collaborators In.PHrequent lend their talents to help transform "M-Body" into a sparse deep house jam complete with driving bass, bright chord progressions and crisp drums. The elusive Material Witness (of Rinsed NYC) closes out the EP with a thorough reinvention of "M-Body" drawing inspiration from church choir vocals and distorted hi-hats.
