“Fuck It Better” goes out to bad parties and conversation so boring you need to get blitzed just to fake it. To piss-drenched frat holes and puking on the sidewalk. For the shitty pickup lines slurred with alcoholic confidence. For the horrible holiday ugly sweater party. To be clear, Cheer Up Club neither condones nor condemns these actions. This insatiable binge culture is a fact of life on colleges campuses across the USA, and for better or worse, someone needs to sing about it. 

Cheer Up Club does just that with a smirk and a Solo cup of Smirnoff. With a tight bass groove and a synthesizer, tangled toy drums, a familiar melody and cheap reggae guitar. Of course, growing up on College Music Journal and Top Ramen, “Fuck It Better” features a healthy dose of 90’s angst, drive, and aggression.

Despite all this, Cheer Up Club are lovers, not fighters. They want to make the world a better place, to give a reason to celebrate, and to find ways to cut through the bullshit and get down to what matters: Love. That’s right, “True Love Saves The World.” Sing along and maybe you’ll get it. 

We can spend our time fighting each other, but there are bigger fish to fry, now more than ever. Remember, there’s strength in numbers, so grab a buddy and your dancing flats and get to it. Have fun, stay safe, drink water, wear a condom, confirm consent and Fuck It Better.

5 native Angelenos spanning a broad spectrum of music, channeling influences from bands like RX Bandits, Radiohead, Thrice, and Underoath, the boys from Model Soul bring an updated adaptation of alternative rock, weaving post-punk and funk with world and dance music.

At their root is a corps of comrades armed with melodic guitar licks and anthem-like sing-alongs, intricate rhythms, electronic undertones and ethereal vibes, coming together to combine their eclectic tastes and create honest songs about love and life.
