Alessandro Serena aka Wurtz was born in Genoa, Italy in 1990. His passion for music began very early and his first own experience behind the decks was at the age of 18 in the local Ligurian Riviera scene, becoming a resident of Riviera Gang, the most important organization in Liguria. He graduated from Milan SAE Institute as sound engineer and then started to produce his own music. He got very early important feedback and support from well-known artists such as Richie Hawtin. He spent a year in South America and after, he returned to Europe, more precisely in Ibiza, where he started to work in a reality like Afterlife. Few weeks after his latest release on Steyoyoke Black, we tapped our favorite Tunisian producer Kadhem to put together a new episode of the Steyoyoke Black Podcast series. Modeplex, a DJ and techno producer hailing from southern Germany, grew up in a musical environment. His real name is Dave, and he was constantly immersed in a world of instruments, music, and records from a young age. In his twenties, Dave began organizing events and networking with promoters and booking agents.

His approach to music composition is unique, blending various musical genres and influences to craft a distinctive mix of techno and deep house. Modeplex draws creative inspiration from personal life experiences, past events, and future aspirations. This process enables him to infuse his tracks with authentic emotions, ensuring each piece he creates is rich in character and soul.

In his music-making process, Modeplex embraces a wide array of ideas, feelings, and technical methods. He values collaboration, acknowledging the learning opportunities and the added enjoyment that comes from creating music with other artists.
