MF006 comes from Joejoemojo, an up-and-coming DJ and producer from Sheffield. Recognized for the mashup of old-school 90s UK garage and Dutch house influences. Operating under the pseudonym Joejoemojo, his sound is characterized by a meticulous blend of darkness and weight. He crafts a sonic experience, replete with wobbly basslines and commanding beats to create a raw aesthetic.

This EP has been heavily supported by some of the biggest DJs in the scene, such as Enzo Siragusa, Gene on Earth, Interplanetary Criminal, Locklead, Julian Anthony, and many more.

MF006 - Mini Mix

The fourth episode of The Funktion Cast series showcased a masterclass of house and garage music, featuring the iconic Ella Knight and legendary Jeremy Sylvester. The event was a momentous occasion in the history of house and garage, with what felt like Jeremy Sylvester passing the torch to Ella Knight, the new school DJ and future legend in the making.

Held at The Cause, the venue was alive with energy as the crowd danced into the early hours of dawn. It was a rare and unique opportunity to witness a garage legend like Sylvester going toe to toe with a rising star like Ella Knight for the first time ever. The collaboration was hailed as the link-up of the year, proving that sometimes meeting your heroes can exceed all expectations.

The Funktion Cast 005 – L.P. Rhythm

Recorded live at our March show at The Cause, this special edition of The Funktion Cast features one of our favourite rising stars, and close friend, L.P. Rhythm.

For his set, we hear L.P. Playing something many weren’t expecting, a nice distinct blend of house, garage, as well as his own signature flavour, L.P. steps into a rare role: the headliner on warm-up duties. A true masterclass in restraint, groove, and atmosphere; proving the warm-up is still an artform in the right hands.

The Funktion Cast 005 - L.P. Rhythm

MF Records is proud to announce its next instalment: a very special vinyl debut from Melbourne’s rising star, Reflex Blue. Making his first appearance on Modern Funktion with three dynamic tracks. Each cut offers something unique ranging from deep, rolling grooves with punchy basslines to garage-infused rhythms and tech-house bangers.

Adding to the excitement, the release features a remix from the legendary Mr. Ho reimagining Rainy Day with his signature dubby, dark, and atmospheric textures, adding a fresh and electrifying dimension to the EP.
