the song is a tribute to my home borough of BROOKLYN. It’s where I grew up and where most of my musical inspiration comes from. Disco being a heavy heavy part of Brooklyn and NYC’s culture( the John Travolta Classic “Saturday Night Fever”, Studio 54, the Birthplace of Disco godfather Nile Rodgers). Naming my Disco inspired track “BROOKLYN” was a fitting tribute. enjoy!

I got hooked on those Brazilian masked dancers after seeing them nonstop on TikTok, always dancing to this Vai Novinha Ah Ah Ah. I love the original feel of the baile funk track, but I needed to put my own spin on it. I flipped it into a house remix with trumpet samples and a much more playful groove. just for fun!

I had found OWEL on Spotify and immediately decided to get in touch with them, a few days later I heard back from them saying they'd be excited to have me remix it.  I guess it never hurts to ask! Here's my new song BREATHE featuring my boys 8 Graves.  it all started with the chorus "breathe" and since I'm not a lyricist or a singer I reached out to my boy Brent from 8 Graves because I thought he'd be perfect for this song and described to him what I thought the song was about and BOOM just like that this song was born. Breathe(feat 8 Graves) - Louis La Roche Remix

From the second I heard "See You Again" I knew I had to remix it and put my own spin on it.  I felt like this is a song we could all relate to and Brent from 8 Graves had this to say about the song... 

"See You Again was about a girl who I really, really liked. Like asked her to marry me liked. Her and I were close and I basically tried everything in my power to get her to want to be with me. After two real long talks, and her explaining to me it wasn't going to happen, I kind of blew up on her. I felt like she had been taking advantage of my kindness for a little over a year, and not just as a friend. After we had the last blow out, she told me that she was moving to the city in November and that I wouldn't have to worry about her being in around. But, until then, I kind of had to retreat a little. She hung out in my town and with a lot of my friends, and if I went out I would inevitably see her. So I kind of just stayed home and sulked about it, and I knew that I couldn't start being myself again and I wouldn't stop feeling that way about her until I saw her and tried to come to grips with my feelings. So it's mainly about my suffering through that heartbreak, and feeling like everything I felt for her both gave me hope and killed me at the same time."

A few months ago I was on YouTube looking for new music when I came across an artist named Ray Hodge.  I instantly fell in love with his vocals and reached out to him to see if he'd want to work on some music.  I sent him some instrumentals I was working on and we ended up writing "Second Chances".


The song "Second Chances" is about  moving on from dysfunctional relationships, the ones that no matter how hard you try and fix they only continue to  hurt you and bring you down . Sometimes the things we want in our lives aren't necessarily the things we need to make us happy. This song is a battle cry about being strong and realizing you have everything you need within yourself.  It's essentially giving the middle finger and saying f*ck you, I don't need your "Second Chances",  moving on from those people who look to keep you down and play with your emotions. -Ray
