Positive Vibrations with Justin Rushmore - 06.04.2023

Honey Soundsystem tried so long to get a mix from venerable LA turned SF turned LA underground queen-pin JENILUV that we thought she'd blue ball us into gay-ternity. Since day one we have been equally as enamored as fearful of her talent and repertoire and this mix leaves us without doubts. Her roots in the San Francisco house music scene runs back to her days in the early 00's doing Fistfight (with rebel rouser club royal Jenny Young), Deep Shit (with Charlotte the Baroness), and DHP (Deep House Project). These days you can find her pushing it all over Los Angeles at her Making Shapes / JACK undergrounds or at the people lucky enough to snag her for a set at their nights. 

As always, this mix was recorded in something all black - potentially denim, potentially distressed, potentially that cost nothing to her but a fortune to someone else 20 years ago. You better work.

Just Another Sleepless Night

Moderna has put out yet another stunning mix, this time for Nylon.  It was compiled during her latest tour in Mexico.  

You will hear some unreleased gems from Mexico City-based artists such as @mijomijo and @bufirolas, Also included are new tracks by Kill the dj's @chloe-dj-producer and Ancient Future's Max Schmitt whom Moderna played alongside with in Mexico City.

Closing out the mix is the debut of "Dog is Calling You" a sultry driving techno track that was produced by Moderna and Theus Mago which is soon to be released on Kill the DJ

From Robag Wruhme’s first releases on Freude am Tanzen you can already find it: this light-footed rhythm. Like a Huckleberry Finn, hopping through the world on one leg – a native alien, a familiar stranger. A cosmonaut, floating in weightless orbits from capsule to capsule. With playful lightheartedness, Wruhme takes synthetic sounds and sampled noises, cuts them to fit, and turns them into beats without his music ever sounding pieced together: every single percussive sound is a compact unit, always bursting with melody, or at least pointing the way towards it.
