'Montreal-based producer Tyler W makes his debut as an artist with a fantastic first release on Hicky & Kalo's label Plaisirs Sonores Records. His track 'Scorpion Rising' is a melancholic piece filled with beautiful melodies. 

On remix duties, Erdi Irmak changes the tone of the track to create a gentle and pleasing organic house ballad. The handsome flute and enchanting bird sounds form an appeasing symbiosis.

Last but not least, Paul Kardos twists the original track into a progressive house weapon that will hypnotize the dancer with driving drums and emotive synth.

'Cid Inc's Replug Records opens the 2019 summer season by welcoming Alex O'Rion to the label for his debut EP. As one of the Netherlands most highly regarded and sought after artists, the Nijkerk resident has found a home on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, where he has released three artist EPs since making his debut in January of 2018. Also a highly regarded DJ, Alex has programmed music for some of the world's most iconic clubs, namely Ministry Of Sound and Fabric. Now fresh off a Spring release for Nick Warren's Hope Recordings, the Dutch artist lands on Replug for his debut EP entitled 'Marathon'. 

Continuing what has been a remarkable year for Alex is the EP's opener and title selection 'Marathon'. Enticing from the start, it's perfectly sculpted beats are warm and powerful, anchoring what is a rippling, free flowing foundation. Crafted with precision and care, layers of hypnotic percussion are blanketed with swirling atmospherics, ghostly vocal edits and fragmented melodies. Intrigue peaks as the main break unfolds, with hazy harmonic concepts and granular design uniting for an exhilarating apex, before ushering in a groovy drop and emotive finale. 

The journey continues with the driving vibes of 'Blaze'. Immediately captivating, it's billowing bass tones and finely tuned percussion play off a robust rhythmic core, making for a devilish, hip swinging groove. It's hypnotic appeal grows subtly, as vocal fragments and luminous tones add an emotive slant to what is an already mystical storyboard. Almost like a sonic comet, it's fiery energy melts down into a break of muted beats and astral designs, before a collage of tripped out harmonics sets the stage for an otherworldly conclusion.

The release is capped off in fine fashion with the introspective moods of 'L'Arbre Des Contes'. Expertly joining the past to the future, Alex marries sophisticated melodic motifs with meditative rhythms and tranquil textures. It's a unique and highly engaging storyboard, perhaps one of the Dutch artist's most heartfelt to date in fact, a creation to cherish for special occasions and no doubt a highly memorable selection for your dance floor. Groovy and emotive in equal measure, it rounds out what is an astute collection of music from Alex O'Rion, making for yet another extraordinary addition to Replug's impeccable discography. '

‘Synchronicity’ is a bold and dynamic compilation of exclusive and previously unreleased tracks from friends of Tripswitch’s flourishing onedotsixtwo label. Featuring exciting new and upcoming talent alongside some well established names, the album has been compiled and mixed by Gustin – a vital member of the onedotsixtwo A&R and management team, and a highly-respected veteran DJ and selector with over 25 years experience playing across the globe.

Following on from Tripswitch’s 2017 label launching mix compilation ‘In At The Deep End’ (ODST0001), the time is now perfect for a second V/A release. With so much amazing talent to work with, Gustin has utilised his immense experience to source an exceptional collection of tracks from around the world, including uniquely creative production talent from Argentina, India, Belarus, Estonia, USA and UK.

Having spent the past year curating exclusive tracks for ‘Synchronicity’, Gustin finally settled down in the studio to create his stunning DJ mix, a creative process exhibiting perfect selection and timing to build a musical experience that embodies depth, colour and texture, wrapped with contemplation, hypnotic beauty, energy and euphoria.  

From Brandon Lee’s opening ‘Free Minds’, a beautifully subdued groover of a track with an enticing snake-charming flute melody, Bangalore-based Weird Sounding Dude’s ‘Hugel’ eases gently into the mix with it’s soaring vocal interludes and euphoric keys. The Argentine duo, Oliver & Tom, have been in high demand recently with releases on some key labels, and its not hard to understand why as ‘True Level’ picks up the pace perfectly with its sparkling production, sublime melodies and infectious groove. 

Fellow Argentine producer, Gabriel Amato, further stokes the fire and moves the mix direction towards peak time progressive territory with ‘Starship’, its rolling bassline, hypnotic soaring lead and expertly crafted FX building to an epic breakdown par excellence. Continuing to build the energy levels, the high-flying percussive beauty of ‘Gaspra’, courtesy of the collaborative pairing of New York’s Dysco with Argentina’s Juan Ibanez, meets Michael A’s tantalizing ‘See Yourself’, and the Belarusian electronic artist’s masterful, distinctive melodic atmospherics are always a joy to behold.

The spiky, scene setting, contemplative flow of ‘Cloud Atlas’ from Estonian born and Texan based producer Kaspar Tasane is perfectly placed to introduce Rodrigo Deem’s pumped-up ‘Panorama’, before another super-talented Argentine producer, the inimitable Partenaire, makes a welcome return to onedotsixtwo with his latest exquisite masterpiece, ‘The Warmth’. 

We stay in that creative hotbed country as Berni Turletti & Agustin Lupidi combine to create ‘Suyai’, a soaring symphony of synth magnificence that builds towards the album’s peak. The ascent is dramatically furthered courtesy of VINU, a multi-cultural, classically trained violinist and multi-instrumentalist residing in West Palm Beach, Florida, whose penultimate, breath-taking ‘Melodic Sunrise’ masterpiece cruises into the album’s spine-tingling finale, ‘Alive’, a heart-wrenchingly beautiful creation courtesy of Martin Gardoqui, Matias Larrosa and Mario Puccio.

The rapidly thriving onedotsixtwo label launches its 2020 campaign with yet another essential release, this time from the multitasking main man himself, Tripswitch, who has masterminded an incredible refreshing of his classic ‘Box Fresh’ track, having enlisted the studio skills of Emi Galván, Forerunners and Nicolas Rada, alongside him on remix duty.

“‘Box Fresh’ was a really significant track for me when it first came out on the ‘Propulsion EP’ in 2014. It was one of the first progressive tracks I wrote where I felt I’d successfully struck the right formula between my own production style, which was more rooted in epic, euphoric chillout, and an up-to-date progressive house sound.” - Tripswitch

The original track’s significance (represented by the 2020 Remaster in this new package) grew exponentially when it became one of the first Tripswitch tracks (after his remix of Seamless ‘Castle In the Sky’ on Section Records) that Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo really hammered in their sets and was thus pivotal in establishing Tripswitch on the progressive path, ultimately leading to the birth of onedotsixtwo.

This creative dream team’s ability to tease out the essential original mind-blowing beauty of ‘Box Fresh’ with their deeply delicious 2020 ReFresh is quite astonishing. By composing a magnificently subtle, tantalizing, soaring, new melodic masterpiece, they set the stage perfectly for this truly outstanding remix package.

Another Buenos Aires resident, the exceptionally multi-talented Emi Galván, brings his own unique vision to ‘Box Fresh’. Emi has earned a reputation as a kind of crown prince of uplifting electronic music and here he injects his infectious blend of bounce and funk to proceedings to launch the track to a higher level of energetic abandonment, juxtaposing irresistible melodic hooks with euphoric percussive flourishes to create an absolutely monstrous dancefloor experience. Arizona USA’s Brenden LaBonte (aka Forerunners) makes a welcome return to onedotsixtwo with his outstanding remix.
