Welcome to the 74th transmission of the Stellar Series.

Today, let's welcome Maïore for an hour trip of deep music. French musician based in Berlin and head of the @preceptco label, he's already known for his DJ skills in the fields of deep techno. After five years and his last podcast published by our colleagues from @deep_electronic, this is is first try with downtempo music. Oscillating between ambient and dub techno, this low key mix fits well with a lazy afternoon under the winter sun.

“Soundscapes of Yoga” is a collection of no-mind-music, a companion on the journey towards pure presence. It is created from, by, during and for the path of unity. It is a service and gift towards seekers on the path to self-discovery, a reminder that we are never alone.

The soundscapes are made from Ishtadi’s collection of healing instruments and nature recordings, meant to echo - our nature within.

According to Guru Vashishta, teacher of Lord Rama, there are 7 states to Union:

Since he was 14 Ishtadi embraced the yoga practice and later extensively travelled India, living with monks, nuns, siddhas, saddhus, yogis, musicians and a variety of therapists and healers. His mission is to transform these ancient experiences of knowledge into contemporary immersive culture.

Ishtadi interweaves sounds of nature to musical landscapes, combining field-recordings with electronic synthesis, organic rhythms and harmonies. Awakening the genetically imprinted being inside, inviting the body and mind to slow down, in order to dive deep - into the now.

Ishtadi is the founder of VibroAcoustics, Nature Tales, Ecstatic Dance Copenhagen, Nordic Ecstatic Dance Association, Cacao CPH and a variety of concert and party concepts.

In sanskrit, “Ishtadi” means purification of the senses - the prerequisite of being absorbed in presence.

We’re entering the new year with a fresh chapter and a new theme to explore.

Vayu (Wind): The wind signifies unstable movement, coldness, and dryness. The element must flow perfectly in life to achieve stability. If the wind flows too rapidly, it can cause muscle twitching physically, unstable relationships, and a flickering mind mentally.

For the first fragment of the year, I’m excited to share with you a live set by Ten Atmospheres.

Andrea Di Francesco is a talented musician and composer from Vasto, a peaceful town in southern Italy. Blending the sounds of his surroundings with the emotions they inspire, he creates an intimate connection between life and art.

This mix features both released and unreleased tracks, each marking a new chapter in Andrea’s creative journey.

Ambient dub techno jam blending hardware synths and field recordings. 
Korg Volca Drum provides the rhythm, while Volca Keys - creates dub stabs. The Korg NTS-1 with the J-6 oscillator adds lush atmospheric pads. A field recording of rain and thunder, captured on a Zoom H1n, is layered in for extra depth and texture.

Symbolism In Transition

Deepchord is the pseudonym of Detroit's Rod Modell - one of the most noted prodcuers operating in the dub-infused aftermath of the Basic Channel axis and all its myriad offshoots. Following an extended hiatus, Rod Modell has re-wired his studio again and is once again receiving great acclaim for his low-end techno variations. Chicago's Steve Hitchell is a longtime Deepchord cohort and a noted producer in his own right - most notably under the Soultek moniker. Hitchell and Modell have recently started to produce material together and this release is their much anticipated debut under the Echospace umbrella.

"Empyrean" is surely the warmest, most loved track in this series - an analogue reggae reduction that revolves around the timeless sounds of a valve-operated organ and a steppa's vibe that's about as far removed from the anonymous techno templates of days gone by as can be. Having been road-tested to a throng of appreciative listeners at this year's Sonar Festival we can testify first-hand to the devastating effect this track will have played at appropriate volumes, it's truly a BASS masterpiece.

Empyrean

"Empyrean" is a low-end beast in slow motion, the arrangement of shuddering bassline and twilight keys once again lending proceedings a menacing yet somehow ethereal quality that will no doubt lodge itself into your record box somewhere between M4 and Domina - It's just THAT good.
