Denver producer and visual artist RUMTUM returns to Bastard Jazz with a new single "Strawberry Moon." Creating a psychedelic daydream vibe through the track's lush harp melody, bouncy drums and deep bass, it's another step forward into the exciting & colorful musical universe RUMTUM is creating as he continues to evolve. Behold an instant oasis with "Strawberry Moon!” 

Denver-based artist RUMTUM, a multi-instrumentalist, and recording enthusiast takes a unique approach to melody and songcraft, pulling inspiration from early sample-based electronic music like Fat Jon / LTJ Bukem / Boards of Canada / Four Tet or Bibio (he enjoys showcasing sampling hardware, synthesizers and drum machines) and combining it with the magic of organic instruments in a live setting. Early collaborations with Monster Rally set a tone for instrumental lofi beats to be more of an inspiration, with two Full length LP’s MR&RT and Coasting. His lifelong journey of visual art quickly followed the music as they combined to create a surreal world full of visual designs and auditory wonders. As such, his projects are largely based on atmospheric sounds, field recordings and natural rhythms. 

Signing with Bastard Jazz Records in 2019 Brought on the new EP Mirage in prelude to the LP "Isles in Indigo," with carefully-crafted ambient loops on and saturated synth lines that set the tone and vibe for the record. Whispers from the natural world breathe life and personal experience into the record at every turn and his meticulous production.

After a seven-year hiatus, French electronic artist Croquet Club, AKA Jeremy Villecourt, releases his first full-length album 'Fugue in Twilight' on Anjunadeep's sister label Reflections.

The eight-track project is a departure from Jeremy’s previous, up-tempo releases. 'Fugue in Twilight' is slow-moving and reflective; created free of ego, comparison, chasing and striving. It’s a compelling and cinematic body of work that will cement Croquet Club’s reputation as a gifted, authentic and unique electronic music producer.

Jeremy started working on 'Fugue in Twilight' in early 2022. After so much time away from the Croquet Club project, he felt the pressure was off and expectations had dissipated. As he re-entered his studio and captured threads of ideas, he felt ready to return to the Croquet Club project for the right reasons; the ones he started with in the first place.

Jeremy treated his process delicately. Every day before he entered the studio, he meditated for close to an hour to turn inwards and reach a non-judgemental state of consciousness. This became a crucial part of the songwriting process.

He then channelled that energy into his creative process. “I’d get down to the studio, turn on the synthesiser or pick up the guitar, and start to play. And most of the time, I’d just play and nothing would happen. And sometimes something happened, and I’d record it.” He did this for about two months, saving threads of ideas, and reviewed everything all at once to see what had potential. “And then I made choices,” Jeremy says. “I deleted stuff, I kept some stuff, and when I had a batch of nice ideas, I worked an extra day on each one of them.”

This meticulous, self-assured and heartfelt process is what makes up the new album 'Fugue In Twilight'. The authenticity and purity seeps through every note, key and melody, pouring from one heart to another. The first single on the album is ‘Slowly’, about the human need for love, solace and intimacy. Jeremy layers his own vocals with hazy keys and nostalgic guitar, alongside lyrics about solitude and our relationship with ourselves.

Jeremy recorded the entire album as if it were live, playing every instrument himself without any loops. “It took a long time,” he says. “I had to write the music, write the lyrics, rehearse every instrument, record each part one by one, then mix it myself.”

Jeremy did it all himself for the experience. “It was like crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a rowing boat,” he says. “I could take the ferry, I could take the plane, but I chose to challenge myself and see how far I can go.”

This album is a sonic journey through imagination, introspection and conscious creation. It tells the story of an inner awakening, where the listener is invited to disconnect from external noise and explore the truth that lives within. Each track represents a step in a personal evolution: from questioning and self observation, to inner expansion, energetic alignment and the creation of a new, intentional reality. The album speaks about remembering personal power, understanding thought as a creative force and learning how to vibrate in harmony with the universe.

Musically, the album blends astral house foundations with a strong sense of emotional movement. Steady rhythms guide the body while atmospheric layers open space for reflection. Retro electronic textures inspired by late twentieth century aesthetics are combined with modern production, creating a timeless sound that feels both nostalgic and forward looking. Warm analog synths, soft digital pads, melodic arpeggios and hypnotic grooves shape a nocturnal and immersive atmosphere.

Natural elements play a key role in the sound design. Subtle textures of wind, water, distant waves, light rain and shimmering bell tones are woven into the music, not as effects but as living elements that enhance the feeling of flow and connection. These organic sounds create a dialogue between the inner world and the larger cosmos, reinforcing the idea that everything vibrates and responds to intention.

The album is designed for late night listening, movement, reflection and inner travel. It is not only meant to be heard, but felt. More than a collection of songs, it is an invitation to slow down, tune in, elevate frequency and consciously shape a reality filled with clarity, balance and positive energy.
