Plasma Sources is proud to present nosync’s Soundsystem Music, an EP which provides a fresh perspecHve on the high-fidelity and sci-fi influenced electronic music the imprint is known for.

nosync’s work sits in a truly unique space in the sound system/club music-o-sphere. This in large part is due to his heavy deployment of progressive metal instrumentaHon, from chugging walls of overdriven guitars to relentless double-Hme kick pa\erns. On paper, uHlising this pale\e in a club-music context may seem like an impossible task. However, where others might see a chasm of disparity, nosync has de^ly idenHfied the bridge connecHng these two genres, seeing in these two landscapes the same desired emoHonal state - despite the different methodologies used to achieve this.

“This record a\empts to make the case that the essence of what makes these sounds so obsessively loved are one and the same. Gripping dramaHsm and intensity are the overlapping themes that I have a\empted to bring out here, through the record’s sound design and film-like structure.”

Indeed Soundsystem Music as a whole feels wildly cinemaHc and is as much an exercise in atmosphere creaHon as music for sound systems, with nosync ciHng the video game Dead Space and its sequel as key influences for this body of work. From the claustrophobic, elasHcated wind chamber of ‘Traced’ to the broken choir voices and FiS-esque ambient abyss of ‘Dead Land’, nosync has expertly matched the pace and atmosphere of these hugely iconic and u\erly terrifying video games and channeled them into a purely sonic experience.

For our 10th release, we decided to look inwards and found a sick local to release some music! We know D-Program as a prolific DnB producer & Tech Support Recordings head honcho. We first came across him at “Underground SF” playing some sick halftime DnB.  According to him, our first VA inspired him to start making footwork.  The man came out swinging like he just got to the sideshow! Doughnuts and breakbeats aside, it has been very rewarding building this project up. We gathered 5 originals that all have their place in a DJ set. 5 remixes from footwork and jungle producers across the U.S. & Canada. Our artist friend Dookie Duke drew this image of someone holding a “street sheet”, a reference to real publication in San Francisco and a past life lived. This colorful release borrows from footwork, jungle, jazz, and soul.  Whether you are chilling at home or shelling down the club, D-Program is gonna take you on a ride!
