The door of the plane flung open and its passengers began making their way down the stairs onto the hot tarmac. It was a world a way from the place they'd left; every inch of the sky was bright blue and the trees that surrounded the runway were all bursting with life. All she'd ever known was the cold and dark, just harsh winters and dreary summers, all colour and brightness squeezed out of everything. She squinted up at the sun, letting the warmth bathe her whole. This is what she'd been missing; for the first time she felt like she was really living.

Dublin-based producer and DJ Jamal Sul is on quite the roll recently. Under his moniker Moving Still he recently made his debut on Palms Trax's CWPT label with a collection of original cuts, and he's also responsible for a catalogue of top notch edits that breathe new life into old Arabic gems. His next project is for Amsterdam's Disco Arabesquo and Kuwaiti cassette label Al Nazaer, which sees him inaugurating a new 12" series of edits called 'Yallah Ya Ashab', with two fresh takes on 90s Kuwaiti songs: the first a flip of singer and actor Bashar Ali Sultan's 'Omrena' and the second a rework of a one hit wonder by a band called Firkit el Lotus.

Pour finir notre 3ème saison en beauté, nous mettons le cap sur l’Afrique du Sud, un pays qui ne cesse de se réinventer sur le plan musical depuis les années 70 ! Puisant ses origines dans les courants Bubblegum et Kwaito apparus au cours des années 80, le genre Amapiano est devenu le nouveau phénomène lifestyle et culturel du continent Africain ! En 2008, le morceau Township Funk de DJ Mujava propulse le genre à une échelle planétaire et provoque une onde de choc dont tout le monde se souvient ! Profondément ancrée dans la réalité quotidienne des habitants des mégalopoles et des townships de Durban, Soweto ou encore Johannesburg, l’Amapiano est devenu un mode de vie à part entière qui dépasse largement le cadre musical ! Musique hybride par excellence, l’Amapiano réussit à fusionner parfaitement l’héritage de la Deep House de Chicago avec un tempo ralenti, les musiques traditionnelles Zoulous, la vibe Soulfull et dans une mouvance afro-futuriste. Hell yeah guys, first album of 2025, and this one means so much to me, 2024 was my last year on school, and i decided to make something to remember all the good moments that i had while i was graduating, i know that i said to yall that 2024 wasnt one of the best years to me, but stopping to think about it now, i think that 2024 was literally one of the best years of my life, and why? i think that all the bad things that happened to me, made me more strong and improved me as a person in someway, and what made last year one of the best years of my life, i think it was all the good memories that i have about it, the memories that i have of this year are some silly and simple memories of some random moments, and i think this turned this year on one of the best years of my life, i produced all the tracks here in that days that i came back from school, and i can remember exactly when i made every single track here, i was living one of the best moments of my life ngl, idk how to explain, this year i felt like some good vibes, i created amazing memories on my mind of some simple moments that are so silly, but idk why it brings to me a very good, nostalgic and happy feeling, and this album sounds exactly like this, ill miss all the good moments that i had with my friends on school, ill miss that blue sky and that sun at 10am when me and my friends was on the physical education class outside the school close to that trees, like damn mane, what a vibe... and what a good moment that i had there with them... Ill miss coming home from school early when some teacher didnt go to work lmao, I remember that when i was coming back to home from school early i was listening to some tapes that maybe helped me to create the songs here, i was listening so much j dilla, freddy konfeddy, lil rocketman, pete rock and some indie rock songs that i dont remember now, but hell yeah, i think that this tape has a lil bit of each one of the style of this guys, and a lil bit of their vibes so why dont credit them...
and here it is some good leasons that i learned in 2024:

Modiolus est né en 1992 de père inconnu et de mère trop connue. Jugé encombrant dès sa plus tendre enfance, il est rapidement confié aux soins de la Direction Départementale des Affaires Sanitaires et Sociales. C’est là qu’il développe son aversion pour le silence, la lumière et les bretzels. Agé de 12 ans, Il entre au conservatoire nationale supérieur de musique et de danse de paris en cassant la fenêtre des toilettes. Incapable de suivre un rythme ou même d’allumer la lumière, il est prestement démasqué et renvoyé dans l’anonymat caractérisant son être. Affublé un QI proche de la définition médicale de la débilité et d’une sensibilité musicale quasi nulle, c’est tout naturellement qu’il se tournera vers la musique électronique. Producteur de soupe pendant 4 longues années, il fait subir à l’harmonie des traumatisme qu’elle ne soupçonnai pas. Décidant qu’il était bien plus raisonnable d’utiliser le talent des autres que de forcer le sien, il prend la décision de devenir DJ. Dépourvu d’authenticité et d’une moustache suffisamment bien taillée il fait le choix de jouer sur Compact Disc. Doté d’une dextérité hors paire, il lance ses tracks aussi furtivement qu’on vole un sac à main. Anti clérical et technocratique, brisant les codes par flemme de les apprendre, il délivre des DJ sets de païens, teintés d’épisodes maniaques et de breaks dépressifs, alternant entre orgasme malsain et période réfractaire. Chineur de daube, il digge 6 pieds sous terre quand tes potes se finissent à la pisse en after. Idiot conscient ou savant fou, il se livre à des expériences odieuses, abuse et maltraite la musique. Sadique à ses heures perdues, il tente des mix provocateurs, aplati les tabous et se fait un malin plaisir à bouffer ta collec’ de hypster avec ses frosties du matin…
