It’s no secret that some of the most exciting ideas for electronic dance music today are coming from the Lusophone diaspora. And from within that steaming hotbed of influences including Zouk and Kizomba, Cape Verdean singer/songwriter Nelson Freitas is counted as one of the most foremost artists. His latest album Elevate has seen him scale unprecedented heights – consider for example his breakout concert featuring an array of heavy hitters at Lisbon’s MEO Arena, the largest in the country. 
Never far from the avant-garde of African-influenced dance phenomena, on his new album Transition, Boddhi Satva co-opts the participation of this former B-boy and R&B fan who has mastered the art of channeling romance and sensuality through his music. 
Adding to Boddhi Satva’s Ancestral archetype, the outcome is visceral. 
The two have teamed up on My Heart, an upfront declaration of love penned by Freitas and bound to capture and melt the hearts of even the hardest of cynics.
