Fusagasuga
Constructed for the club 

In contrast to first the Viiaan productions where sound design, ambient, and field recordings are the main theme, Fusagasuga encompasses a concept behind the bases, melodies, samples, and vocals that through the artist subjectivity correspond to subgenres that influence her within underground electronic music in order to express her understanding of what is techno, dance hall, reggaeton, and the dance floor. 

This first album mastered by Dj Swisha is intended to question the listener and deconstruct ideas of what a particular genre is or isn’t. 

Luis Antonio Tovar a.k.a. Lats, an architect and visual artist focused on 3D digital art, is in charge of the album cover art with collaboration from the tattoo artist Alberto Monroy alias Pandemic Tattoo. Full design will be release within the album at the end of February 2022 

Viiaan is now part of the OnTheSLy booking agency along with prominent artists such as Dj Lag, Kampire, Dj Python, Steve Hauschildt, among others.

There were strange etchings and markings engraved in the old wooden door. This was the entrance to a world of mystery and intrigue, beyond the crooked walls and behind the fragmented brickwork lay many secrets and stories from a lifetime on planet earth. Some called it a library but to him it was more than that, it was a portal in which to step back in time.

This place lay empty now, replaced by the far more amenable technology which had swallowed them all. Few frequented this old place but those who did knew the true value and meaning of the knowledge it housed.

One day it might be gone but for now, just for a little while longer, it remained here to tell the stories and the tales of the past.


 
G.E.O Corp releases two new tracks, a dreamy, dubby, leftfield EP which leaves us wanting more. The whole nature of this release reminds us of the early 2000’s, when mysterious white labels lurked in dusty shelves and the world seemed so promising and bright. There’s a poignant sense of melancholy here, perfectly poised.

He wasn't sure how it had come to be this way, that he was the one to serve. Yet here he was...

From time to time he'd have to check himself, check anything, check something. Then the chime would ring out again...

Redstone Press hold no punches with the release of a new EP from London based producer Gesture. This one packs a punch with this track being our pick of the lot. A heavy hitting bass track with glitchy vocals and sharp chops and changes.

Referring to Karel Capek's satiric 1936 novel ,,War with the Newts", the sixth record of the YAPPIN chronicles is DJ Neewt's second attempt to transfer Capek's dystopian imagery of suppression and monetarisation onto a sonic level. This EP is a pass to deep and psychedelic spheres, a clash of despair and hope, hegemony and appetite for freedom and independency, an alternation of tension and relief, of simplicity and complexity. Distant, reverberating voices wallowing in broad synthesizer soundscapes, incisive bass lines twining percussive patterns - everything is cyclic but yet somehow progressing. The three tracks on ,,Mud Voices" are not just functional tools to inject some trance and breaks into your DJ set, they are the creative outcome of DJ Neewt interrogating Karel Capek's view on totalitarianism, postcolonialism and social Darwinism - an attempt to put a sonic complexion to the marvelous science fiction story the Czech author had told in dismal and desperate times.

The 44th Chapter in this story sees the release of JOBE’s "My Regrets", featuring the haunting vocals of Haptic and a big Edition from label bosses VVerses. As ever with JOBE, the EP is a powerful combination of darkness, melody and heft. Title track "My Regrets" is true to form, built on a chunky, driving groove that opens into an expansive and euphoric vocal-led peak in which Haptic takes the lead, giving a performance that is typically haunting and emotional. The Dub Edition, meanwhile, offers a useful counterpoint that smooths out the highs of the original. Up next, the "VVerses Lessons Learned Edition" is a blissful combination of new wave-influenced broken beat, delayed basslines and dripping acid. Haptic’s vocal, transformed into an impersonal and heavily vocodered robotic presence, holds the track together as it culminates into choppy ravey chords that channel a Balearic feel. Final track "Luma" is an ominous afro tech roller, big dusty drums encasing a central arp that ups the ante and is bound to make the dancefloor bounce. Interweaving synths relentlessly build the tension to a crescendo.
JOBE does it again with his My Regrets EP, right in time for the summer months. Here are stories in sound not to be missed on Chapter 24.
