At a young age, Olan! (Olivier Zurkirchen) was surrounded by electronic music thanks to their older brother who had just turned 20 when the first wave of techno music swept over Europe. Olivier would then find themselves experimenting for hours with their brother's synth collection, and even witnessed some techno parties at the age of 10. 

After earning a masters degree in jazz piano and composition at Berne University of the Arts and touring around Europe as a keyboard player with jazz and psychedelic rock bands, Olan! grew tired of playing music in concert settings, so they moved to Zurich; there, the idea of playing Techno live-sets and modular systems grew stronger. 

Since 2013, Oliver reinvented themselves as ‘Olan!’, and they’ve been playing live-sets all around Switzerland, and occasionally in Germany or France. Mixmag described one of their Youtube videos as one of “10 of the best  live modular sets you can watch online” * next to Surgeon, Karenn, Ansome and other big names. Their energetic live-sets are always improvised on the spot, ranging from Electro to big room Techno. 

After sporadic releases on small labels under various pseudonyms Olan! decided to release their debut EP themselves, thus creating their own label: 0x01 Records to expand on the techno and experimental club scene based in Zurich.
