A split magnetic recording by Maltash and The Undertaker's Tapes.

The first composition under the Maltash moniker where the artist allegedly underwent his first Spiritual Amputation, this long play by the Aakkar native Maltash sees the artist on his knees facing his demons. Tormented ambient and drenched in Black, this could be Maltash's first and only release in his non-native Lebanese language.

Stepping out of the black fog; The Undertaker's Tape's most expressive work to date, dismantling all that is known about the project's ideology.
Confronting us with beliefs that will lead to our own lethality. The artist gives birth to an absolute dissonant ecosystem of noise and drums with inner screams which paints a portrait of pain.

Fasting Culture is Barkosina Hanusova's debut book publication with a music tape, drenched in multidisciplinary art forms her magnum opus entitled “Fasting Culture” has no shortage of performance art elements. 
Barkosina draws resemblance of human nutritive starvation with cultural starvation, urging us to reevaluate what cultural existence means to us. 
Throughout the creation of this Opus, Barkosina has fasted and created a daily audio piece with spontaneity and immediacy, capturing raw material that reflects on the current emotion in time and space.

An attempt to deconstruct Metal, Industrial, Experimental Hip Hop, Sludge and Tarab at the same time: With his latest album 'Barki', Maltash aspires to establish 'Post-Tarab' as a musical genre.

Maltash (Arabic: ملطش, “wicked”) is a Lebanese experimentalist, who is steadily remodelling his musical influences: Drawing from Arabic Wedding Music, Byzantine Music of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Islamic Call to Prayer and various opposite tonal languages, such as music from the Lebanese-Syrian singer George Wassouf and Ambient Drone Metal duo The Angelic Process.

‘Barki’ is an exemplary statement on how to make an artist’s outcry heard with a steady underlying dark humour that is satirical in its nature. Maltash insists on being heard by propagating Noise-Metal-Post-Tarab waves through a certain rawness that is in its core ’Barki’ (Arabic: بركي, “maybe”). 

Traditionally, Tarab is a societal and communal phenomenon that lives in Levant culture. Maltash’s experimentation contradicts these elements and touches on the individual conditions that come after Tarab has been practiced. The Post-Tarab endeavours in this opus touch on the unapologetic nature of populism, the emotions that come with populism and Industrial Noise-Metal solitary. 

The album sets a precedent for the Levant, bringing an obscurity to light that has lived within.

Not only a musical reinterpretation, but a “cinematic audiobook” of the 1996 cult film ‘Al Nom Fil Assal’: ‘Risala Min Shahed Ayan’ is a sample-based album by Osman Arabi as Ain Horus.

Osman Arabi launches his newest project Ain Horus (Arabic: عین حورس, The Eye of Horus) with the 18-track album ‘Risala Min Shahed Ayan’ (Arabic: رسالة من شاھد عیان, “A Letter From An Eyewitness”) on Lebanese experimental label Modular Mind.

The entire album consists of samples and sounds from the 1996 Egyptian cult film ‘Al Nom Fil Assal’ (Arabic: النوم فى العسل, English: “A Deep Sleep” or “Sweet Oblivion”). The satire features legendary comedian Adel Emam, directed by the great Sharif Arafa and scored by Omar Khayrat, the film tackles topics like sexual impotence, corruption, ignorance and frustration in Egyptian society which led it to become one of a kind audio-visual experience in the Arab world.

Osman Arabi describes the format of his album as an “18-track cinematic audiobook”. The artist draws all the sonic elements from the film that he processes, arranges and unfolds like scenes from a childhood memory. Creating a so-called cinematic audiobook is Arabi’s approach to the remains of a forgotten pan-Arabic cultural phenomenon that he intends to modernize in his own musical language. Within the composition, he transforms each track into a scene. His musical reinterpretation is an homage to the very essence of the film that revolves around the question: What does the spirit of a world that has gone mad look like?

Ain Horus’ debut on Modular Mind will be released on April 2nd, 2023. The 18-track album will be released on all digital platforms and as a limited edition cassette tape.

Osman Arabi is a guitarist, composer, producer and sound designer from El-Mina, Tripoli, Lebanon, who lives and works in Berlin. A unique figure in the international noise and industrial music scene, Arabi is especially known for pioneering noise and black metal waves in Lebanon in the early 2000’s.

His work elicits images of desolate industrial landscapes and shamanistic rites. From his beginnings in black metal, Arabi has progressed through different genres, such as dark ambient, industrial, tribal, psychedelic, electro-acoustic, power electronics and noise. His many projects have included Seeker, Kafan, Veinen, Shamanic Death Trance, The Ritual Inclusion Of Code, 20.SV, as well as nihilist Dutch collective Stalaggh. In 2000, Arabi stopped performing live -- vanishing into the underground, not resurfacing until 2009. For the past decade, Arabi has been developing -- in complete secrecy -- his "occult guitar" playing, based on the sigil work of Austin Osman Spare.

Narrated thru 10 tracks, In this cinematic album CHANCE (Sinan Varis) is the protagonist, a tormented artist haunted by his memories of a lost homeland, Kurdistan. The now displaced artist is assaulted by visions of his native homeland contrasted by his current fate. A thin line weaves through the duality of identity and nostalgia.
The album is a train that extracts the spirit of real stories encountered from different characters that do not share the same story or language but are united by this sonority.

Through archival fragments and dreamlike moments the album depicts the joy & suffering of Kurdistan. Offering a contemplation about separation and uprootedness.

Do we fight for balance, or because of it ? 

The Rebels Have No King is a report on the current human condition, a decade long interpretation by Kujo. This magnum opus expressed in trinity form (of audio, image, and text) invites the subject to partake in a boundless experiment that brings forth the voices of the unheard with cross-cultural interpretation between Middle Eastern and Western schools. Unapologetic by nature, the execution of these 9 recordings showcase a raw and direct connection to the artist, disembodying the persona. Each piece is riddled with complex human interaction and memory capsules of events occuring in contemporary times channeled in form of outcries.
In classic Kujo fashion the weapons of choice are a pallet of haunting vocals, synthesizer noise and oriental percussion, recorded soundscapes of protesting under teargas rainfall, projecting you straight to the frontline. 

The Rebels Have No King, Kujo’s 9-piece opus pressed at 45rpm on 2x 180g vinyl marbled disc in a limited run of 400 copies with an additional special edition of 50 copies that will include Kujo's hardcover artbook.

When the power of your choices is withdrawn from you, you are rendered powerless .
