The Attic Music label strives to keep us dancing in these difficult times with a new EP from red hot young Portuguese talent Nørbak featuring a remix from the label’s owner Fabrizio Lapiana. 

Over the last four years, Artur Moreira has quickly established his avant-garde techno sound on labels like Semantica, Soma, Warm Up Recordings and his own label, Hayes. Always exploring the deep and dark end of the spectrum, he has picked up props from the likes of Oscar Mulero and Dasha Rush while going on to establish his name around Europe with killer sets at places like Tresor in Berlin. 

The excellent 'Pledge I' opens up with a menacing groove that burrows late into an underground cavern. It sounds earthy and organic and the rock solid kick drums get you into a state of hypnosis while the scurrying synths add more details in which to get lost. 'Pledge II' is another masterfully heady and journeying track that layers up more rubbery, propulsive kick drums with fizzing, electrified synth sounds and pads that encircle you and get you into a state of trance. It's hugely warm and atmospheric. 

Over the last decade, Lapiana and his label have become synonymous with evocative techno soundscapes on the finest labels around. Here he serves up a remix of 'Pledge III' that is perfectly smooth and seductive, with soft, looping melodic phrases slowly shapeshifting and melting your mind as they do so. The drums burrow deep into the night and make this a timeless minimal techno classic.  Last of all, 'Pledge IV' is a silky techno track that rolls to infinity, with cosmic pads and subtle melodies all weaving around each other and tying your brain in knots.  

This is another tasteful EP of high grade techno that works mind, body and soul.

We are enlarging our digital series with another album by meticulous italian producer Evod. Ten virtual cuts of scientific bleepy abstract techno: Intrincated, complex, detailed, carefully crafted soundwise. A voyage to the future via dissonant harmonies and sound experiments, but yet danceable or playable by proper dj’s out there.

This body of work has been conceived to be listened to as a whole, to get into a time travel mood that brings you out of the currently absurd panorama.

About the tracks:

Cavita sounds like a sonar bleep sent outer space, repetitive and linear.
Dimensionamenti : elastic and liquid, still preserving the hypnosis via repetition.
Sfoghi D’Aria follows similar parameters, bleepy spiced grooves with a simple rhythmic approach.
Portate D’anima works with spaces and sound layers bringing the FX work a step beyond.
Forma Transitoria returns to bleep galore and liquidness.
Cera perduta is an alien march over a solid kick.
Cassa d’anima softens the approach, still keeping the tension that floats all over this album.
Granuli brings us to the best Detroit / Warp days of the early nineties with a precious 808 groove.
Zona Massiva is like the sound of filters making music, again liquid and elastic.
Forma Permanente is the last bullet, saying goodbye in a classic timeless techno vibe.

Glad to have such a talented person on board. There is still hope in this semi destroyed musical world.

Evod Music is glad to present ‘Galleria’, a Various Artists mini-compilation with Oscar Mulero, Mike Storm, Evod & Oisel and Divide. ‘Perlora’ by Oscar Mulero is a perfect dancefloor tool. Continuous bleepy spaced out sequences dialogue perfectly with stationary drums patterns and noisy hi-hats. ‘Cosmic Occurance’ is Mike Storm’s first appearance on Evod Music, which welcomes his inimitable style. The track is dominated by repetitive sinusoidal glissandos and a powerful bassline sequence.‘Dune’ by Evod & Oisel is live recorded and composed by four sounds. A raw kick, a (dynamically filtered) bassline sequence, a resonant melody and and a light hi-hat. The melody’ of Enigma’ by Divide is endless. As his usual, a single sequence dominates the entire track, melted with distorted, powerful drums and raids of pure power, during track’s climax.
