After a short break we're back with episode #62 of our Schimmer Podcast Series selected and mixed by Franz Jäger.

Franz is a long-time member of the collective, known for his minimal and groove-driven approach to techno. For this mix, he brings together mostly unreleased tracks from himself and friends, creating a seamless flow between hypnotic rhythms, subtle textures, and deep, driving grooves. The selection moves between introspective passages and peak-time energy, balancing minimal elegance with tactile, dancefloor-ready patterns. Expect precise smooth transitions, and a careful blend of organic and electronic soundscapes. A concise reflection of Franz’s current sound and his close circle of collaborators.

Schimmer Podcast #062 with Franz Jäger

Hello hello,

I've long wanted to create mixes that ground, soothe, and open new perspectives through music.

I regularly listen to ambient, IDM, and other contemplative sounds to rest and refresh my mind when I'm not mixing or producing techno or spending time in clubs.

I finally made time to assemble the first installment of this tranquil journey. It features some of my current favorite ambient pieces, woven into a cohesive musical collage intended for attentive background listening, meditation, or simple calm.

I hope you find it as rewarding as a typical dance set. Perhaps even more. Tell me what you think, and let me know in the comments if you need any track IDs.

Influenced by a blend of psychedelia, trip-hop, rock, and soul, BAR.ONE channels his roots into the mental, magnetic, and driving realms of techno. Now based in Berlin, he draws inspiration from the city's underground scene to mix raw textures and hypnotic patterns, with an eye for deep and ethereal atmospheres. 
Member of Tech Clubbers collective and Orientation Records label, BAR.ONE is constantly exploring his own immersive and cinematic vision of techno.

Étam, is a DJ and Record Label owner born in Santander, Spain. He has lived like a globetrotter, spending time in cities like Belgrade, Oslo, Tarragona, and now residing in the Barcelona area. 

A humble lover of electronic music since childhood, he gradually found his way to deeper and darker techno, where he truly feels at home.

Étam is known for creating mixes that highlight careful equalization, allowing the music to breathe and take listeners on a sonic journey.

In 2022, together with his brother Jorge launched their own Techno Record Label called Loopaina Records. Striving to carve out a place in the competitive techno scene, which is dominated by established artists’ labels.

The new guest of DifferentSound Records series Boyd Schidt is the solo project of Georgian DJ and producer Levan Lolishvili. A KHIDI resident and key figure in Tbilisi’s techno scene, his sound blends industrial, dark, and experimental elements. Since launching his solo career in 2010, he has released on labels like Sonic Groove, KHIDI, and Gordo Traxx, earning a global reputation for pushing techno’s sonic limits.
