An incredible festival, an incredible dance: In the late night steamy heat of the Costa Rican rainforest we Invoked the sacred through sonic alchemy and surrendered to the divine.  This set was the culmination of everything I strive for on the ecstatic dance floor - in the amorphously porous container of a festival a multi genre, tempo-twisted offering of deep groove and penetrating cadence elastically stretched the potential for expression over 108 minutes of unpredictable storytelling as each dancer exploded into the hyper-nowness of being.

Hey, this is Lorahn and thank you for arriving at this mixtape for Ritmos del Sur. For the last years, I’ve been living on the magical island of Ibiza, where I was inspired by ancient cultures and touched by a variety of musical heritage. Music can truly transform us and therefore I believe music can change the world. If we can create heaven on the dance floor, we can create heaven on earth too. That is my mission. Xochiquetzal

Unlike several other figures in the complex of Aztec female earth deities connected with agricultural and sexual fecundity, Xochiquetzal is always depicted as an alluring and youthful woman, richly attired and symbolically associated with vegetation and in particular flowers. 

She was followed by a retinue consisting of birds and butterflies. Worshippers wore animal and flower masks at a festival, held in her honor every eight years. 

Ichpōchtli is an alternative form of Xochiquetzal representative of beauty, sex, crafts, fertility, dance, music, singing, weaving, magic, and love spells. Marigolds are sacred to her.
