Olympische Winterspiele 2018, Gangneung Curling Centre: Hier soll ein Track entstehen, der Südkorea durch die Round Robin begleitet. Zum Einzug der Athlet*innen spielen Ex-Mono & Jan 10ner ihre typischen Dub Techno Sounds, die von Tablas getragen auf verträumte Chords treffen. Das Publikum in der Wettkampfstätte sitzt auf gepolsterten Stühlen und drückt ihrem Second Seong Se-hyeon die Daumen bevor dieser die Rocks drei und vier platziert. Der Track nimmt das beruhigende Gleiten des Steines auf, und das bange Schweigen, welches nur vom Skip Kim Chang-min und seinen Rufen durchbrochen wird. Bis allen klar ist: Double Take Out! Der angespielte Stein gleitet aus dem „House“ und in der Halle entgleitet die Disziplin. Angetrieben durch eine housige Bassline und organischen Shakern feiert das Publikum ihre Mannschaft. Von Acid angehaucht gleiten die Rocks mit 108 bpm durch den Track ohne die Zielkoordinaten aus dem Blick zu verlieren.

Somehow we got the feeling, we should honor this. Why so ever, lets just do it, because it is beautiful, beacuse our music that we record and produce is also just a binary code, transforming over and over again, from our fingers on the synths, from the mic to the mixer, from the mixer into space, back on black plastics or bluetoothing through your walls directly in your ear...and this just because there is a 1 and a 0. This is why we celebrate, to say thank you to these magic numbers. Without these two little friends we would drum our techno with bones in analog caves. Naked. Oh Wait...that sounds great...the URSL Cave Raves. Mmmmh...well we will keep you in the loop on this new project. Pat FM lives, composes and produces electronic music in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Acoustic instruments such as Fender Rhodes and guitars are often the basis of his downtempo and deep house tracks, which are a perfect mix of organic and electronic sounds with a sporadic touch of jazz.

After a classical education on violin and piano, Pat FM played over 500 concerts with musicians from Europe, Africa, Asia and America, and discovered his love for Arabic music.

This is what we experience on his EP ‘Maghreb’, where his deep and organic percussive sounds are accompanied by musician and singer Toufik El Maachi.
