As the night was turning into dawn and the first gleam of light landed on the trees I was already in the middle of my morning run advancing deeper into the woods and immersing myself in the mysterious atmosphere of the wakening forest with its magical sounds sharpening slowly from all around. Gently coming in synch with my steady motion and breath the music was everywhere, inspiring my conscious mind to travel beyond the visible and connect with the Soul of nature. I could feel my reality changing its shape as I was floating by majestic pine trees and witnessing the forest gracefully reveal its enigmatic beauty. I was there and I was somewhere else, in a parallel dimension, meditating my way through the eternal elements of life, feeling inspired and recharged.

Always searching for new music and sounds, the curator loves to found new fresh tracks that represents him, but not forgeting to keep classic tracks alive at the same time. He is graduating in psychology degree and looking for a way to apply it in music therapy, which is why he decided to start dijing.

Es ist immer wieder spannend zu hören, wie unsere Guest Artists ihren Zugang zum Downtempo fanden. Wahrscheinlich waren die wenigstens von uns schon im Teenie-Alter Slowraver*innen und der ein oder andere Umweg, mitunter auch kleinere Irrungen oder Wirrungen waren auf der musikalischen Findungsreise oft inbegriffen. Sind es meist nicht sowieso vor allem äußere Einflüsse, die den Musikgeschmack über Phasen hinweg prägen? Einer dieser Einflüsse war bei Martin Meyer der elterliche Musikgeschmack, der dafür sorgte, dass seine Ohren schon im frühen Kindesalter in den Genuss von World Music Sounds kamen. Vermutlich ein ziemlich privilegierter elterlicher Musikgeschmack, wenn man Downtempo-Nerds fragen würde. Zwischenzeitlich, hauptsächlich in schnelleren Genres unterwegs, schloss sich der Kreis für Martin aber erst, als ihn bei seinem ersten Besuch in der one and only Bucht das Zusammenspiel von treibenden Bässen mit den weltlichen Klängen aus seiner Kindheit verzauberte. Der Flashback war gleichzeitig ein Eye Opener und die Realisation, dass sinkende bpm-Zahlen auf dem Dancefloor durchaus ein steigendes Energielevel erzeugen können. Dass Martin bisher selbst kaum Downtempo aufgelegt hat, hört man Schleichcast°28 gar nicht an. Im Gegenteil, die Kollektion seiner liebsten Perlen fügt sich zu einer knapp einstündigen Klangreise um die Welt zusammen, die so smooth daherkommt, dass man meinen könnte, Martin hätte nie etwas anderes gemacht, als Downtempo-Sets zu basteln. Er hat's wohl einfach im Blut. Muchísimas gracias an Martin Meyer (@mrtnme) für diesen wundervollen Mix!

~Zeit für ein schleichendes Frage & Antwort Spiel~

>>Wer bist du und woher kommst du?
Hi. Ich bin Martin, komme ursprünglich aus Offenbach und lebe seit einigen Jahren in Berlin.

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
Ich war gefühlt schon immer musikalisch aktiv, habe früh angefangen Schlagzeug zu spielen und als ich 18 war mit dem produzieren begonnen. Auflegen hat sich nach einiger Zeit angefühlt wie der nächste logische Schritt, auch weil ich hier in Berlin in recht kurzer Zeit viele gleichgesinnte getroffen habe.

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert? 
Da ich seit Jahren Downtempo höre und liebe, aber bisher kaum in die Richtung aufgelegt habe wollte ich mich unbedingt mal daran versuchen und habe so kurzerhand meine Lieblingstracks der letzten Jahre zusammengesucht. Es war für mich ein ganz anderer Approach als sonst und hat mir am Ende eine große Freude gemacht die ganzen Instrumente und Melodien zusammenzupuzzeln. 

>>Was gefällt dir besonders an langsamer Musik?
Meine Eltern haben in meiner Kindheit viel World Musik gehört und ich war sehr überrascht als ich bei meinem ersten Besuch in der Rummelsbucht dann diese Symbiose aus langsamer elektronischer Musik und den warmen organischen Klängen von Instrumenten der ganzen Welt entdeckt habe. Das hat mich sofort begeistert, weil ich das vorher einfach nicht kannte. Eigentlich kam ich auch aus viel schnelleren Genres und war deshalb umso mehr überrascht wie anders die Energie sein kann auf dem Dancefloor. Diese Faszination hält bis heute, eine Mischung aus Nostalgie und Freude an der Sound-Ästhetik.

>>Dein Geheimtipp gegen den Kater am nächsten morgen?
Ich bin da leider auch nicht so der Master, ich würde mal sagen ausreichend Schlaf und dann ab in die Sonne. Wenn hier jemand tatsächlich einen Geheimtipp hat schreibt ihn mir in die Kommentare ;)
