The Sacred Medicine Buddha Mantra to heal. Buddha, at Bodhisattva Manjushri’s invitation, taught the source of the Medicine Buddha sutra of 800 verses. The tradition was transmitted to Tibet by the esteemed Indian Buddhist master, Abbot Shantarakshita (8th century), and was given to the Tibetan King Trisong Deutsan to foster health, avoid illnesses, defend against black magic, and to protect the ecological system from natural disasters.

It is written in the sutras that if one says the name of the Medicine Buddha in the ears of a dying animal or human, they will be assured a good rebirth irrespective of their past karma.

Simply by seeing the image of the Buddha of Medicine and hearing his mantra showers us with healing blessings. And merely hearing Medicine Buddha’s name will also have some healing influence on the ones who hear his name. 

Medicine Buddha is invoked through the use of specific imagery & sound, reaching out to the core consciousness.

'To you, Bhagavan, Tathagata, Arhat, perfectly & fully awakened Menla, King of Lapis light, I offer you prostrations’.

May all the illnesses of body, speech & mind forever be gone, for every one across space and time 🙏
