Modern, industrial-leaning techno with minimalistic aesthetics is a niche that this universe doesn't offer enough of at this moment of time. Öspiel is one of the artists who is contributing to this (nowadays) obscure branch of techno and he does it flawlessly. Void+1 succeeded in acquiring his latest offering of razor-sharp, intelligently engineered productions in the form of a conceptual EP called "And Still I Drift". It consists of 4 tracks that will keep your mind engaged and become an essential part of your sets due to their club-oriented nature.While the inspiration-origins of all tracks are not entirely clear, we obtained intel that one of them was constructed around a scene from one of the most famous, space/time movies of all time and that another one was created as tribute to a deceased Artist who he admires.
EPs that are simultaneously and equally as effective as they are interesting are a rare breed. "And Still I Drift" definitely falls under that category.
Telling you to keep an eye on Öspiel is not necessary, as you will surely do it anyway after you hear such a marvelous EP as this one.

Unhuman & Petra Flurr is the collaborative synthpunk-technoid project of BITE label stalwart, Berlin-based Greek artist Unhuman and legendary queer wave figure Petra Flurr. ‘Mala Vida’ is their debut album on BITE that further evolves their sound beyond genre borders. 

The duo deliver an 8-track LP consisting of punk body music exhibiting the team’s mastery on production, their androgynous vision and diverse influences. Petra Flurr’s staggered, often effected, vocals cruise over pounding beats, bold iconic hooks and psychedelic atmospheres. His lyrics reference the seedy underbelly of Berlin’s sex underground. Meanwhile, Unhuman’s productions broadly range from the post-punk references of ‘Labyrinth’ to the new beat grooves of ‘Short Life’ featuring Ukrainian duo Garden Krist to the melodic orchestrations of ‘Rush’. All this is reinterpreted by techno duo New Frames on a digital remix of ‘Unzivilisiert’.

‘Mala Vida’ is a direct inspiration from their debut performance at Berghain for last year’s BITE label night. After which, they swiftly retreated to the studio to compose, still in their platform heels. The two paint a coat of neon red over their preexisting batcave of sound. While the artwork by Liam Noonan compliments the gender fluidness of the album, distorting and digitally manipulating images of the creators themselves. Using heavy rhythmics, wavy mandates, an androgynous stare and unavoidable sexuality, Unhuman & Petra Flurr introduce us to their culled brand of queer death techno. Always with a wink.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Eƨƨe Ran. "24-Bit Rot" comes off the new EP, Constant Decay, forthcoming on Humidex Records. The Montreal-based artist delivers three tracks of crushing, distorted techno mutations that pulverizes speakers and dance floors alike. Transformation is at the core of the producer's work and this release perfectly showcases nature's "Constant Decay".

Berlin-based American expat Maedon (Tresor, Sonic Groove) ushers in the arrival of Rant & Rave Records with a slickly produced debut EP entitled ‘Cease and Desist’. ‘1989’ opens with booming kicks, driving mechanical percussion, and hallelujah samples interspersed throughout. The droning rave synths sound eerily akin to kamikaze dive bombers heading directly for your brain. ‘Grandstand’ and the title track ’Cease and Desist’ continue in this direction, abundant with hypnotic electronics and relentless energy. On ‘The Worlds So’, Maedon shares her thoughts on the state of world current events with looped vocals ‘The worlds so fucked... all we can do is dance’. Gritty, dark rave tracks for peak time workout that provide a nice blueprint of what to expect from this label. No prisoners taken.

HAVEN is proud to present another new catalogue number with the first full EP on the label from London-based Greek producer of hard-edged speedy techno MarcelDune, following on from their contribution to the Sardonic Tonality Vol. 4 VA compilation.

The A1 kicks off with ‘I Am Looking For Date Ideas’ - a hectic 4-4 dance-floor assault with chugging synths, hardcore kicks, overdriven percussion and cheeky vocals loops. This is followed by ‘Final Loose’ with its addictive vocal hooks, charging drum patterns and playful melodies. The A-side is closed with ‘The Scene’ with rolling bass-lines, bubbling synth sounds and distorted vocal breaks.

On the B-side ‘Independence Creating Distance’ hits us with hypnotic vocal loops and ear-worm synth patterns amongst its speedy drum patterns sure to get feet moving. HAVEN main-stays New Frames close out the record with their remix of the B1, with their usual heavy drum programming interplaying with dubbed out synth work creating another club killer to end another dance-floor focused record from the imprint.

ETERNITY VOL.1, released on Overstep, is the first chapter of an uncompromising reissue of techno. In this chapter we find the union between Spain and Slovakia with tracks produced around 2001 and 2007 by Exium, Loktibrada and Dj Boss. It also includes an unreleased track by the label owners B R 1 0 0 2.
On SIDE A we find Exium with "Electrictone" a track originally released in 2003 on Rxxistance and Loktibrada with "Plnovous", released in 2001 on Palicavonzvreca.
Instead in the SIDE B we find B R 1 0 0 2 with "Hotei" and Dj Boss with "Depka Old" from his archives "Unreleased vol. 7".

Since his early youth Berlin born MØRBECK was involved in the club scene of the German capital. Inspired by 90s Hip Hop and Techno he set up his first studio in 2002 and began producing music of both genres. After working on several projects during the following years he eventually had his first releases on Berlin based label VAULT SERIES in 2010 which gained widespread recognition. More releases (and remixes) followed on labels such as PERC TRAX, SOMA, M-REC and FIFTH WALL. He was a resident DJ at MONASTERIO (Moscow) and STATTBAD WEDDING (Berlin). Besides that he played numerous clubs und festivals all across the globe.
In 2013 he founded his own imprint CODE IS LAW as a platform for his own music and for artists who shared his vision and passion for Techno. The love for the art and the striving for versatility can be observed not only in his work for the label but also in his DJ sets. The influences from his past are all coming together now shaping the typical MØRBECK sound: rough, groovy, melodic and constantly evolving Techno as you can hear on his most recent release – the highly acclaimed double EP “T.R.I.P.S.“.
