Drut Recordings are proud to present a remix package to follow Kelpe's acclaimed album from June: 'Fourth: The Golden Eagle'. The entire LP has been reworked, in original order, by a cast of new and established producers including Mike Slott, Dam Mantle, Débruit and Fulgeance for a 10 track digital album and special edition 5 track 12" EP version.

LuckyMe family member Mike Slott kicks off proceedings with a spacious, reflective 4/4 take on the album's opening cut Astrolomy, adding his own unique vocal twist to the zither-led skewed polyrhythms of the original. Stones Throw / Now Again favourite Mr Chop joins the fray with a note-by-note cover version of Superzero Theme reconstructed on vintage analog gear whilst Débruit opts for an Afro-futuristic, dance floor ready take on "Go Visible". Notown's Dam Mantle crafts a brutal, no nonsense four to the floor extension of album interlude "Glinterlude", whilst Fulgeance's low-club refix of "Beaks Of Eagles" makes it's first vinyl appearance, having recently been a surprise soundtrack to Lacoste's Autumn/Winter season show at New York Fashion week.

This collection isn't just about the established names though - newcomers Mieux, Fuewa, Morgan Hislop and Adam Oko filter the lush chords and strung-out textures of the original LP through their own prisms. And finally, Chesslo Junior, a producer you'll soon know more of with an EP to come on Drut, provides one of the finest moments on offer with his stripped down remix of "Single Stripe".

Partly by design and partly down to happenstance, the 10 track remix collection retains much of the flow of the original LP, even though each remixer has put their own completely new and unique imprint on their submission. This is a glimpse at where Drut is heading to, and where it came from.

Mit <em>Insomniac</em> liefert der Kölner Garage-Produzent <a href="https://www.facebook.com/ozakamusic">Ōzaka</a> den ersten Track aus seiner gleichnamigen EP, welche in kürze beim  französisch-kanadischen Netlabel <a href="http://www.soignetesoreilles.com/">Soigne Tes Oreilles</a> erscheinen wird. Die verhallten Sample-Collagen sind ein Stück weit klar strömenden und hitzig vibrierenden Akkord-Figuren gewichen, deren rhythmischer Unterbau aber nach wie vor die goldenen Tage des UK-Garage zitiert, ohne dabei Seitenschritte in Richtung HipHop oder Techno zu scheuen. Dass solche Formen des Eklektizismus bei <a href="https://www.facebook.com/soignetesoreilles?fref=ts">Soigne Tes Oreilles</a> bestens aufgehoben sind, beweist nicht nur der extrem facettenreiche Backkatalog des Labels, sondern auch der angeschlossene Blog.

Das Video zu Insomniac basiert fast ausschließlich auf Lehr- und Anschauungsmaterial der europäischen Weltraumorganisation (ESA), das für den Clip zu einem psychedelischen Panoptikum der Farben und Formen montiert wurde.

The Future We Used To Have

London’s D-Malice and Johannesburg’s Kid Fonque team up as rkls once again and the duo follow up their first single ‘Hours Go By ft Sio’ with a little club banger before their highly anticipated debut album drops in 2018.

Sticking to the sample theme of the rkls sound, the 2 lads team up with Cape Town’s very own White Nite to create a deep mid-tempo jam heavily influenced by early DJ Shadow.

Two remixes take the track in very different directions – Soweto’s FKA Mash takes things into a deeper more afro terrain while Australia’s Stan Forebee reconstructs the track and comes out with a wonky Garage belter.
