I had a recording session few weeks ago that went so well, and we finished about an hour earlier than what we have planned. So after everyone left, I was sitting all alone by the piano, and I started to play and sing this song, a childhood favorite of mine by beautiful Dalida. 

The song is recorded in a single, nonstop take. I didn't do anything too complicated or "artistic" with the song, since the words and the tune of it are simply the same of my heart. Just consider it a spontaneous love letter between a man and his love.

Helwa ya Balady - Dalida cover by Mohab Henein!

Three weeks ago my beloved grandmother passed away, and in the same week I had the privilege of conducting a wonderful groups of singers with works of my choice. So I ended up composing this piece for that specific occasion. 

Driven by the sadness of my grandmother's death, I contemplated a lot about the meaning of peace, that one of a kind peace that surpasses all of our understanding. And so I ended up with this song. The lyrics are simple, it's mostly only the word "Salam" which stands for "Peace" in Arabic, and some parts of "The Lord bless you and keep you" prayer.

This recording doesn't have the sung parts, only choir Ah's and the organ. However, I'm sure that you could form an idea about what I'm trying to say here. At least I would hope so! : )

This is a track I recorded a few years back, inspired by a theme from a sacred musical I wrote called "It Is Finished". The piece itself wasn't used in the musical, however, I worked on it furthermore, to infuse a soothing, little jazzy sound for a solo piano feature.

What an amazing discovery that is! Today I randomly found this precious track. My very first assignment of my very first class at APU in my very first semester, the class was "intro to music tech." and the instructor - Stephen Martin - asked for a project demo that shows proficiency in using Logic Pro as a recording, arranging and editing program.

Needless to say that this project is my first time to ever do a one-man-show using Logic Pro, I recorded the solo, overdubbed, and mixed the whole thing in a room with an $ 80 microphone and a couch that worked as our one and only sound proof. : )

Oh well, it's those particular treasures that we come to find after years to find ourselves overwhelmed with floods of good memories of our young and childish approaches to music, which will always be the purest. 

I truly hope you'll be able to enjoy this, and for my sake, don't be too harsh in your judgement. : )

This is the amazing song "Wonderful Merciful Savior", it was a random pick I chose on a Sunday morning at First Presbyterian church of Azusa, however, it didn't sound too bad after all. As a mater of fact, I had the goosebumps of the un doubtful presence of God at the moment.
