After spending some of the best nights of my life dancing in front of the Spirit Train, it was a dream come true to play on LOBO…

AfrikaBurn, and its dance floors, have always been my happy place. My annual odyssey into the desert, has been amongst my greatest joys… This last year, the cancellation of the Burn, along with so much else, left a huge gap. I buckled down, and retreated into music – with music being the salve that got me through the year. 

So, to finally be back in Tankwa, but this time, spinning beats on the iconic Spirit Train was a dream… I opened up the RTTS party on Sunday night, playing to a full and thumping dance floor – and had one of the most epic experiences! The energy emanating from that dance floor; the lights; the colors; the smiles; the movement… It’s hard to describe how incredible that felt! 

What a joy to play in that magical place, amongst such master musicians. I’m counting down the days until I can return again… Thank you LOBO. What a gift!

Kicking off the week with this groovy psychedelic soundscape set played by Safak OzKutle AKA “Oceanvs Orientalis” is a formation which aims to challenge the aesthetic perception in electronic music.

It blends itself with the archaelogic tunes of mankind’s cumulative musical history and in this very context believes that “everything comes from the east”.

Despite of being an electronic-based formation -due to practical reasons- at the moment, it intends to transform into a dance (to move the body and feet to music) orchestra where each instrument will be played by its own instrumentalist.

Mo Amer is an Egyptian producer and DJ hailing from Cairo, Egypt. With a passion for progressive house and melodic techno, his music draws inspiration from his oriental heritage and the authentic taste of the Middle East.

A pilot by profession, Amer is blessed with the opportunity to travel and explore new cultures, which continually fuels his creative drive. He discovered his love for music from an early age, starting with the piano and keyboard at the tender age of six.

Growing up, Amer’s musical journey evolved alongside the rise of electronic music, particularly during the golden era of trance in the early 2000s, with influences from iconic artists like Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Sasha, and more.

In 2013, Amer delved into the world of electronic music production and sound design. It was during this time that he had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned Egyptian DJs Aly and Fila.

Since then, Amer has been captivating audiences with his seamless mixes and infectious energy at numerous local gigs, showcasing his skills as a skilled DJ. His talent and dedication also led him to organise the memorable Sanctuary Music Festival in Ras Sudr, Egypt, in 2019. The three-day event brought together over 20 progressive and eclectic electronic artists from both regional and international backgrounds.

With a signature style encompassing melodic techno, progressive house, and organic house, Amer’s music transports listeners to a mesmerising world where Eastern influences meet modern electronic beats.
