Framewerk is a duo based out of the U.K. composed of Darren & Alec. These two guys are part of a rare species of producers who use only hardware to make music. In today’s digital world it is mind blowing to believe floppy disks are still used, however Framewerk use them for their Korg Synthetisers and Akai Samplers.
It’s no secret that the British duo has been producing music for over a decade as Darren says “We’ve had loads of names, Manhattan, Journeys By DJs and a few others we would rather forget about…” Under the name of Framewerk they have released music on labels such as Chapter 24, Tool Room and Click Records. We are very happy to welcome them in the Bimini family.

“It’s You” is a deep house track with a funky and disco vibe. The vocals give a sense of happiness while the synths bring tension to the song, a fine balance which makes this track unique and lovely.
“Mind” previously appeared on Framewerk’s own label Capital Heaven, while playing this song over and over we decided to bring it to life once again. “Mind” is a progressive track with trippy melodies and efficient drums.
We are excited to be back and hope that you will enjoy the music as much was we do.

‘They Say’ proved a big hit for Moodmusic in 2015, so they have enlisted a great team of people to remix it for their next release. The original is by Alessio Pagliaroli feat. Jinadu, but here Anthony Georges Patrice, Jonas Saalbach & Chris Robin and Alexander Maier all flip it into their own vital versions.

Up first is Anthony Georges Patrice, a Paris based producer who takes his love of many musical forms, from soul to jazz, and layers them into his house productions. Here he elevates his ‘They Say’ remix into heady and hypnotic territory, with smooth, elongated grooves imbued with languorous chords, trancelike bell sounds and subtly rumbling bass. The result is a perfectly serene cut that will have floors marching as one.

Jonas Saalbach & Chris Robin are up next, a pair who have history on labels such as Einmusika, and Bedrock. Their sound is sultry, seductive and deep, and never more so than on this excellent remix. Leaving the crisp but forlorn vocals in place, they colour it with retro synth sounds and lumpy rubber drums and ensure that hearts will swell whenever it gets dropped as a result.

Lastly, Alexander Maier is another long time member of the Moodmusic family. He is a talented German who also works with Thomas Saris as Basic (Operators) and has put out music on Compost, Hypercolour and more. His dub version is a terrific ten minute opus with modulated synths gurgling away above slick boom-bap drums and perc. The whole thing roams free, taking you up and down with it and forever tunnelling deeper into the darkened night as acid lines and chords grow ever more wild.

This package breathes some great new life into the original and is sure to be another winning release for Moodmusic.

After a 2-year hiatus from the mothership, Kim Brown return to Just Another Beat with a new 12“, including the brand-new track “Visiona 1970“ and an exceptionally impressive remix of “Nabi“, one of the outstanding tracks off their debut album “Somewhere Else It’s Going To be Good“, beautifully executed by Quarion.

It was Quarion aka Yanneck Salvo himself who approached the Berlin-based duo, being eager to work on his own version of the track and taking it to the next level. The result equals en epic transformation. Using only the key melodic elements of the rather quiet and lush original, Quarion’s version is much more than a remix. It’s more like a cover version, showcasing his own unique approach of how to first dismantle and then carefully, bit by bit, rebuild the peak time moment of the dancefloor. Clocking in at just under 10 minutes, to be enjoyed best from start to finish, this is a voyage extraordinaire.

On the flip, “Visiona 1970“ presents Kim Brown in a glistening rainbow of deep colours. With freely shuffling hi-hats, intimate percussion and some of their most beautiful melodies yet, this track marks a turning point for the project. Having mainly released remixes for other artists recently, Ji-Hun Kim and Julian Braun have been constantly working on a new album as well, which will finally see the light of day not long after the release of this EP. Following up from her ‘Birds’ EP, BLANCAh has once again extended her skills and delivered yet another well rounded release. Titled ‘Soturno’, this all original three track EP reflects BLANCAh’s versatility and strong sense for self-expression. In its entirety, ‘Soturno’ will touch the furthest corners of your mind and embrace every curve of your soul. 
The title track ‘Soturno’ certainly wastes no time and immediately ushers you toward a one way excursion of intensity. Eerie synths, ghastly bass lines and sneering high hats carve out the depths of this track, yet it also embellishes some rather quirky soundscapes and obscurities, all of which highlight BLANCAh’s own love for all things weird and wonderful.

‘Ode a Um Corpo Imperfeito’ is the icing on the cake for ‘Soturno’ and plays a key role in transforming this EP into a masterstroke of self-reflection and artistry. Possessing clean basslines and an array of simple yet profound percussive elements, this tracks vibe seems to march and meander with a mighty presence, skulking with a severity that adds life to every chord, beat and thrum.
