For the debut release on my own new label IPSO with Kompakt Records, I wanted to try something different. The new label, IPSO is for me to invite a friend or a hero, - someone I admire musically to do a collaboration.
I’ve long been a fan of limiting myself in the studio. 
Sometimes working with less equipment brings out the best in you, so for the first release I figured it would be interesting to experiment with this. 
Inspired by the danish dogma films, I decided to make a rule. 
As I’m not one for overdoing things, the rule is very simple.
We are only allowed to use one instrument.
I reached out to my friend and all time hero Michael Mayer to do the first collab. 
Other than being co-founder of the mighty Kompakt records, and signing me in 2009, he is a genius in a dj Booth and a great producer. 
He has always been a great inspiration to me, so we agreed to start of my new Label with a bang. 
I set out the challenge, that Michael should choose the instrument. 
As I arrived in Cologne, Michael had chosen an old Yamaha Organ. Funny side note, is that it is actually Jörg Burgers organ. Jörg is actually quiet the legend himself, but that is another story. 
Michael and I spent 1 day in the studio, and we had a blast.

There’s a natural ambience that Loeffler continually manages to harness throughout his productions and, once again, he delivers some of that exact poignancy to the Ost & Kjex original. Maintaining a liveliness throughout, he keeps things uncluttered whilst still retaining a sparkling sense of spirit in the soft harmonic textures and whispering vocal layers. It’s an exquisite emotional sound palette that scatters itself across the track.

The German powerhouse duo of D-nox & Beckers are causing devastation wherever they lay their musical hats. From remixing Stephan Bodzin and for Get Physical, Bedrock to Selador to name a few, and releasing gems on Parquet to Sudbeat. These boys are on fire.

They return with 2 cuts of serious tastiness, and we start with 'Last Call'. This bubbling arp led monster oozes class, as its layers effortless merge in to a soundscape of hugeness! The clever vocal infectiously draws you in, before its key changing break is a dance floor 'moment' to raise the roof. this is big, don't say we didn't warn you!

'Second Sun' is a brooding moody gem that subtly unfurls its magic, before its graces us with a warm melodic riff and beautiful pads that rise and elevate this beauty, before unleashing a smile inducing moment of magic. Perfect for the summer.

Italian producer Lehar returns to Solomun's Diynamic Music this week, after his well received 'Number One Hero' release on sub-label 2DIY4 in March of this year. The new EP, titled Magical Realism brings three scintillating cuts to the fore - you can check out the title track in full exclusively on When We Dip today :)

The Venice artist is fresh from a remix appearance on Toronto imprint My Favorite Robot and a feature on Connaisseur Recordings' highly regarded 10th anniversary release. 2016 is clearly set to be a massive year for the melodic master.

Release date set for June 24th, 2016.

Premiere: Lehar - Magical Realism [Diynamic Music]

We ring in the summer with a fresh deep house track from BEF MI8. The track has heavy dark techno influences and shows off a perfect boiler room-esque vibe that is easy to get lost in. The production is stellar and this will not be the last we hear from BEF MI8!
