This was my absolute jam in 2004. I used to wear it out back when Scott Storch was my favorite producer. Benzi reached out to me a while back about remixing it and I knew it had to be done right. I really tried to give this track the feeling it gave me when I first heard it. Nothing too over the top, just smooth and sexy. The 808s really hit on this one. I think it's perfect for Valentine's Day.

Let Me Explain

THE BACKSTORY
"What up world!! I've had this remix for a while and it was a blast to write. I'm a huge fan of both Zedd and Alessia Cara (Zedd first got me into EDM) and the first time I heard Stay I knew I wanted to put my own spin on it. I went back and forth on ideas a ton but eventually stuck with the plucky melody you hear with the piano chords and vocal chops following. The original track hovers around 100 BPM or so and I knew I wanted to bump it to around 115 BPM to make it more danceable.  If any friends know Zedd or Alessia and want to send this to them that’d be incredible (totally joking, but also not joking whatsoever). Also this short desc. was inspired by @thechainsmokers :)"
