Future Times is back at you with more hot wax!! DC's own OV, who came correct with the opening cut on our Vibe 3 compilation, shares this 12" with Diego (also known as Dude Energy, Suzanne Kraft) and together they lift off into the atmosphere with two dope cuts. OV's "Perc Song (Chords)" sets a perfect, humid scene full of string licks and syncopated chunk, before it rinses the "(Chords)" and cools way out, setting the scene for "Crack" on the flip. Diego's track climbs all the way up, cutting in slippery drums and arpeggios underneath the floating, soaked synths, before the end of the tune gives way to pure pad bliss.

Quavius, the deep south vagabond known for his raw and sophisticated dance collages returns to Lustwerk Music with his second EP for the label, Find Ready. 

While mostly an instrumental affair, Find Ready is an updated glimpse into the producer / rapper’s latest repertoire, ranging from the sunny, Baltimore club-influenced house of “Flo Central” to funky Motor City workouts like “Heaven Is In You” and “Find Ready”. The EP starts off on a high clip with a nostalgic, forward-driving deep house instrumental, “That Beat.”

Quavius dons the mic on three of the seven tracks. “The Gist”, the EPs cornerstone, sounds something like a Rakim-meets-Sensate Focus. The A and B side are each topped off with downtempo Hip-hop. “Let it Rock” and “Fa Sho” are contemporary updates on cloud rap that bleed atmosphere and confidence while revealing Quavius’ knack for tight songwriting and arrangement.

"In many ways Spring seems to be the perfect seasonal match for upsammy: no matter the tempo nor intensity, her style is colourful, restorative and carries a tangible promise of new beginnings. So Wild Chamber arrives at the right time, but it is an evergreen package – eight songs to slot into different situations, to speak to different moods, yet come from the same heart. A mini-LP that captures dawn mist, reflecting-pool shimmer, and occasional flashes of brilliant blue light. Swells of bass sag and yawn, time signatures switch up and break down, drums stutter and charge, and gossamer melodic trails are traced like ice skates atop a thawing lake. Innumerable shards of ideas are present, yet the music is airy and uncluttered. Wild Chamber is upsammy at her most pure, sketching sonic miniatures with a precise eye and an inquisitive ear quite unlike anyone else’s right now."
