As the saying goes: nothing ever ends well, otherwise it would not end. And yet large parts of us still wish things would not end, even after we convince ourselves it is for the best. Is it an act of grace to accept fate and slowly fade away without a fight, or does the universe want to test our resolve and see just how far we are willing to go to obtain, and more importantly perhaps to keep, the object of our desires? It is human not to know; it is human to exist in bewilderment regarding such matters. Being aware of this, however, never makes it any easier. Endings always bring an emptiness in a person's heart and soul. No one ever wants to fail, but sometimes we wait too long to really try in the right ways to truly succeed. The eleventh hour concession is always the hardest case to handle. It leaves one with many doubts. It leaves a person with the hope that things would be, could be, should be, better if only... In such cases the weather can be forever raining in one's heart.

"The Idea Of You" is the first of a trio of neoclassical solo piano albums composed, performed, and produced by Andrew Souter. These projects have been two decades in the making and represent a return to traditional music composition, engaging song-writing, and the pure passion of emotional story-telling. This Andrew's most personal and intimate music. It is quite literally a love project. We hope it may it help you on your journey, as it has us...

The Idea Of You Cover Art "The Idea Of You" is music inspired by the spirit of Eros and all of its blessings as well as its tribulations. It explores the vicissitudes of romantic love, the delicate seasons and contour of life, and all the lessons learned along the way. Themes of desire, passion, limerence, romantic love, idolatry, jealousy, envy, loss, regret, forgiveness, acknowledgment, appreciation, acceptance, and eventually glimpses of true understanding permeate the work. It attempts to communicate that which so many of us can never quite communicate properly with words. It is an open apology for the clumsy mistakes we all make when coming to maturity in learning how to care selflessly for another human being. It is a gentle reminder as to what is most important in life, as well as an invocation to continuously seek self-improvement regarding our understanding of such matters.

A few words about my project:

My latest composition takes the listener on a journey from an imprisoned state to the deep darkness before the ultimate and unlimited energy of a free spirit body. This piece represents the first station of my internal journey, expressed through a beautiful piano arrangement.

The composition features great breathing on its phrases, different types of rhythms (from largo to adantissimo), and varying depths of emotion, ranging from a feeling of closeness to the listener to the sense of vast distances.

Before you start listening to this composition, I recommend taking a moment to calm yourself and prepare for a relaxing journey from the outer to the inner and deeper parts of your existence.

Στο κομμάτι αυτό περιλαμβάνω και ένα θέμα από ένα κομμάτι που με καθόρισε και συντρόφεψε για μία περίοδο, το ''Μετά'' του Ταφ Λάθος, σαν ένα ευχαριστώ και έναν φόρο τιμής για τις στιγμές αυτές.

Σκέψεις για το έργο:
 Πως μία ύπαρξη περνάει από την δέσμια κατάσταση στην απελευθέρωση του από τα πάθη του;

  Σε αυτό το κομμάτι περιγράφονται, μέσα από την σύνθεση του, όλες αυτές οι σκέψεις και οι εμπειρίες σε στάδια.

 Όταν μία ύπαρξη καταλαβαίνει συνειδητά πλέον πως βρίσκεται δεσμώτρια στα πάθη της, οδηγείται στο απόλυτο σκοτάδι και πέφτει αρχικά σε μία κατάσταση χειρότερη από ότι ήταν, καθώς προσπαθεί να ελευθερωθεί.

   Σε αυτήν την περίπτωση υπάρχουν δύο ενδεχόμενα: Στο πρώτο ενδεχόμενο είναι το άτομο που προσπαθεί να ελευθερωθέι, μην διαθέτοντας τα κατάλληλα εφόδια να το κάνει, να επιστρέψει στην πρώιμη δέσμια κατάσταση του η να τυφλωθεί νοητά και να χάσει εντελώς την διαυγεία με αποτέλεσμα να καταδικάσει τον εαυτό του σε μία κατάσταση ατέρμωνης αρδάνειας. 

  Η δεύτερη περίπτωση είναι το σώμα να καταφέρει να ελευθερωθεί. όταν τα καταφέρει φτάνει σε μία κατάσταση που το σώμα του γίνεται πλέον το ίδιο ένεργεια.

Melancolía

I know I should not even watch to this huge  masterpiece being only at my second year of piano; but I could not resist.  I tried  and I don't completely dislike what I hear. So decided to put it  here hoping Chopin will forgive me. This is probably the most known of Chopin's production, I can really undesrtand why! Although  most known pieces of an author often are not my preferred,  I cannot deny this is absolutely awesome, irresisteable in playing : charming, poetry, italian belcanto, eveything is here. So deep, joyfully and lovely at the same time. Thank you for listening

I am thrilled to share one of my recent favourite projects in G# minor, a part of the EP "One Fall After Another" available at soundcloud.com/to_mi_nor/sets/one-fall-after-another-march. This EP comprises four tracks, two orchestral and two piano solos, infused with Japanese and Greek influences. The compositions are a testimony to my passion for piano and daily composing, resulting in swift project completion with contrasting tones and volumes, modulation, and pitch changes. Under a sky that never sleeps, fragments of radiance float between hollow cathedrals and endless dunes. The air vibrates with ancient vows, echoing in corridors of fire and frost. Somewhere between devotion and decay, the light forgets its origin and returns as something purer: an infinite movement, without form or demand, unfolding silently like the memory of a love that never learned to end.
