Once again, Carhartt WIP Radio welcomes Innervisions to the airwaves with a mix from Kristian Beyer, one half of the irrepressible, in vogue duo, Âme. Since 2003, German duo Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann have produced music under the alias Âme, combining floor-filling tunes with musical elements that go beyond the usual formula of house and techno. Their single "Rej" became a global club hit in 2006 and the duo has been travelling the world and playing at every major club and festival ever since. If that wasn't enough, along with their buddy Dixon, they also run the Innervisions label, currently one of the most sought-after names in contemporary house. Lately Wiedemann has taken to playing solo live as Âme, while Beyer deejays under the same alias. For Carhartt WIP Radio, Kristian has mixed a show featuring some of his favourite tracks from the Innervisions archive.

"Trying to capture the feeling of summer in the Northeast is tough, the most concise summation I could muster is, "finally here, it's almost over" because honestly thats how it feels up here. (not to mention that by the time I finally ever do a summer mix, it tends to be almost over). That feeling of fleeting warmth and beauty coupled with my city emptying out every summer (byyyye students!) is what I tried to capture in this mix, and for me this is what it sounds like inside my head when I step out of the house and start walking on those first warm days. It's also my attempt to extend the summer feeling a little longer than the weather usually allows us to. It's a funky little 55 minute trip through some disco, cumbia, funk, afrobeat y mas. Bosq - Finally Here, It's Almost Over (A Summer Mix)

To help bring in summer we've got our hands on this fresh mix from Jamaican artist, David Marston. David is a talented producer, DJ, musician, and guitarist; his approach to music is multifaceted: in his own productions, David works to achieve a sound that is a fusion of various genres, including, but not limited to: house, soul, disco, jazz, as well as reggae. As a performer, he has impressed crowds and partygoers with his captivating live-set that incorporates live guitar and on-the-fly sound manipulation. Here are some words from David himself on the selection:

"This mix comprises a collection of meaningful songs: some are recent releases or discoveries, some are staples in my DJ sets, and some hark back to my days as a teenager learning electric guitar (hence the Stevie Ray Vaughan and Al Di Meola inclusions!). Not long ago, I came across the music of an artist named, "Mizan", and I was in awe of the beauty and sophistication of her music. After going through her catalog, I felt the urge to start working on a new DJ mix. Searching to see what I had on my computer, I uncovered an unfinished mix that I had been saving for something special, and I proceeded to build on that foundation. The new song ideas that came to mind fit really well with the original set that I had laid out, and soon, I had arranged a complete and eclectic mix. This selection will accompany the release of my Kindness of Bearer EP, forthcoming on Soul Clap Records out April 1st, 2016."
