"Qualia" starts off innocently with lush chords before a reese bassline and menacing drums builds into a breakddown with hardstyle inspired sensations, before it fully drops into a raw rugged club weapon.

On "Hyperflexx" Slick Shoota is back in familiar footwork territory, flexing razor sharp 808s, scattered drums and a hook with instant appeal.

Qualia

After his well-received, first self-released single Lion Heart, Goro follows up with the more sensitive Call/Answer. Although the song might soundtrack better a stroll with headphones rather than the peak time in the club, it chooses to cater the listener’s emotions instead, while showing a well disciplined originality, which doesn’t go out of control. We can hear Goro’s own vocals, layered with a guitar-sounding synth, which later takes over their role. The song reveals a sound palette which sets the tone further for what is to be expected from the up-and-coming producer.

Auckland, New Zealand, producer @Lowquid began DJing around ten years ago, when early dubstep made its way to the southwestern Pacific Ocean country. Raised on a diet of early drum ‘n’ bass and jungle, he now makes beats centred around grime and dubstep, coming to collaborate with Newham MC Mic Ty for a track that got spun on programmes as diverse as Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown and even Love Island. New cut ‘The Fall’, which we’re premiering now, taps into the dark, menacing nature of grime but adds a more percussive touch in the vein of artists like TSVI.
