Who better to kick off the inaugural release of SOBO [Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest] than Patrick Holland, best known as Project Pablo. Affiliated with the Canadian Riviera's 1080p troupe, as well as Seb Wildblood's Church and Lone's Magicwire – Holland now adds Beaubien Dream as the fourth instalment to his 12" series. The Beaubien connection comes from Montreal's Rue Beaubien, of which Holland is a resident. SOBO is headed up by fellow longstanding citizens of the Beaubien Ouest hood, Arbutus Records and their extended family – of which Holland is an instrumental part.

An initial teaser of the EP's opening "Closer" was aired publicly during Holland's BR London set back in October, as well as his NTS appearance with Lone and Gabriola earlier this year. Now, after a patient seven-month wait, we can finally wrap our mitts around it in its entirety. Alongside its two subsequent components, the track acts as a homage to Holland's home. With its distinctive Dx7 melodies, jingly percussion provided by bells (of the cow variety amongst others) and an insatiable groove growing lazily throughout – "Closer" is instantaneous happiness.

COEO are Toy Tonics' lead artists and they don’t joke ! Technically perfect on a level that most producers start to get jealous. Musically filled up with so much knowledge about the history of Disco and House that it’s no wonder that big names like Kenny Dope, Borrowed Identity and Tensnake are huge fans. And their style...? From Jazz DJ’s and DJ Sets of wildstyle DJ’s like Harvey or the Idjut Boys. It’s not any more about the old schematic Ketamine Deep House that always sounds the same (and makes your feet fall asleep). Listen to Flesh World ! It’s black music basically. It’s Booty sound. For its second release Houseum Records link up with Ricky Razu, whose renowned talents have quickly garnered him a great deal of attention within the global House scene. The Belgian reveals 'Cycles', a debut solo EP built to warm the body as the winter season approaches thanks to the four tracks pulsing with luminous and captivating beats.

‘Without U’ is a solid opener with strong deep and groovy tones. The catchy kick and sweet samples make it a proper dancefloor delight. The main title track 'Cycles' is a dynamic lullaby that sends waves of relaxation through you. The producer unveils a melodic house that blends perfectly with the high perched vocal.

The B side is just as enchanting - 'Crystal Height' is a true shot of your daily vitamin C with it's sunlit sequences. 'Hiding' lands in style, revealing a more breakaway house with dreamy synths. A touch of hypnotic grooves with an atmospheric rhythm, what more could we ask for?

“IF U WANT IT” is our first micro-album project on clipp.art, and comes via 24 year old Korean singer, songwriter, rapper, house and techno DJ 박혜진 park hye jin. Currently residing in Korea, park hey jin is a resident DJ at Pistil Dance Club, with regular broadcast performances on Seoul’s independent underground radio “SCR”. Her style blends elements of dream-state house, raw hip-hop & psychedelic darkwave and mixes her own English and Korean vocals over dreamy synths & thick beats for a forward-thinking dancefloor experience. 

Title track “IF U WANT IT”, has park hye jin singing a duet with herself in Korean over a bangin 4/4 beat, followed rapidly by “ABC” which finds park croon in English over a smoky piano line before tumbling effortlessly into a motorik fashioned middle breakdown. From there we shift gears, sliding into the deep thunder of Korean vocaled “I DON’T CARE”, the abyss of “CLOSE EYES”, before sailing endlessly into the moonlight on EP closer, “CALL ME”. 

We are completely thrilled to present you this exciting underground talent coming out of Seoul.

The newly found record label Midnight Snacks combines the passion for electronic dance music and the rapture to transcend genre boundaries. In addition to serving musical bites, the Berlin snack crew has a high aesthetic and visual aspiration – and realizes its artistic visions in collaboration with illustrator Hans Berger.

With the announcement of "Movin’", the German-Jamaican producer and soul singer Tender Games ignites his new wave of releases. Even though this might sound a little corny and not that sexy: "Movin’" is a goddamn summer anthem! Tender Games alias Ulrich Harrison demonstrates nothing less than a symbiosis of funky grooves, silky rhodes and a lot of disco feeling. The title says it all: This tune makes you shake a leg! With its smooth breakdown and vibrant bassline, this track would surely also be to the liking of acts like Thundercat, Toro Y Moi, Late-70s-Herbie-Hancock or even Curtis Mayfield.

The main course comes along with spiced up side dishes by Black Loops and Marlon Hoffstadt. The Italian Deep House darling Riccardo alias Black Loops seasoned his remix with some laid back and cheerful summery breaks. This deep and soulful version gets you in the mood for this year’s open-air season.

Berlin’s nightlife connoisseur Marlon Hoffstadt takes you back to the 90s and rounds up the EP with a pumping but yet smooth and dreamy "Eurodancer Mix". A seven and a half minutes long ride which keeps you, of course: movin’.

DJ Nervous is a DJ and producer in Cardiff who has been crafting a concept album to reflect a difficult time in his life. The album, due to come out next month is comprised of variety of electronic flavours. Look out for the next few releases with sounds ranging from house and disco to ambient and breakbeat! Each track to the album has a special meaning and this song is the summation of the journey, the rollercoaster:

"The last 18 months have been extremely difficult for me, I have had to deal with both parents being diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, my mum passed away in October 2019. This album is comprised of songs I was making throughout this journey of melancholy which on reflection I felt fitted together to tell a story. When reflecting on the last year at the funeral, I described the journey of cancer as a rollercoaster for the affected person and their loved ones. The ups and downs, the twists and turns, the elation and the fear. The analogy I think to myself is that I was on that rollercoaster with everyone else in the past, present and future. For now, I am grateful that this ride has ended, but I also feel a new fear for those who are about to begin theirs."

Debut Album 'Choosing To Try' comes out Friday 19th June 2020
