Lyrical Meditations of Molina Speaks

Crook Rap

Molina Speaks is an artist, poet, musician, lecturer, educator and human bridge. As Artist, he has been named a Westword “Mastermind.” Molina has released over a dozen lyrical albums and has performed at a long list of Denver’s iconic cultural and performance venues. Molina is an honoree of the Lalo Delgado Poetry Festival, and has served as a Live Poetic Scribe for dozens of events across the Denver Metro Area. He has visited many rural Colorado towns as a touring poet, including poetry and cultural festivals in Trinidad, San Luis, Crestone and the Four Corners region. Along with his solo creative work, he plays with Denver bands Pink Hawks and Roots Rice and Beans.

Molina has created and recorded albums in Albuquerque NM, Oakland and Los Angeles CA, Brooklyn NY, Denver CO, and Laramie WY. His work has been critically acclaimed by Colorado Public Radio, 9 News, the Denver Post, and Westword. Molina is the Music Director for the documentary film Papers (2009)—a film about undocumented youth and their struggle for education. He has produced various films and multi-media projects including the April 2020 DIGITAL GIFT BASKET in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Most recently, Molina is a a featured artist in the upcoming Hecho en Colorado exhibition, in collaboration with Latino Cultural Arts Center & History Colorado.
