As we get ready for a busy summer, of spreading the sound of tomorrow across the globe, we can't help but take a step back and bring you all the feel good, forward thinking music you know and love from Soulection. This installment of our White Label series comes from 18 year old London composer, songwriter, guitarist, singer & violinist, Tom Misch. We felt the need to list all of this in the description, because each track is such an audio masterpiece. This one is for everyone, but true fans of Dilla, and smooth, mellow, R&B inspired hip-hop beats, will definitely enjoy this release.

"Basically this EP is me attempting to make instrumentals that will effect people moods in a positive way but also make people think, all produced and recorded by myself in my bedroom. I've used a combination of obscure jazz samples but mostly live instrumentation that I've recorded, so I recored guitar, violin, bit of vocals and sound effects etc." -Tom Misch

Daedelus' ON DECK is the shortest contribution we've had to the series, but it somehow manages to be the most esoterically formed and conceptually dense – The 25 minutes it spans could be a light year as far as we could tell. It's Daedelus, though, what do you expect? The dapperly dressed Angeleno has been defying convention since he showed up on the scene all those years ago.

The last 72+ hours have been a movie. From Dubai to Cape Town, South Africa, here we are at Red Bull Studios blooming off the energy of the city and people around us. Carmack stole the night yesterday at the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival hosted by RBMA and we're here celebrating Dilla's life just as we do every month. 

Soulection wouldn't be here if it weren't for J Dilla. That man has given us so much inspiration and this show is for him.

" I made these joints with the homie WULU when he was out here from LDN,So we walked around Leimert Park on a Sunday he bought a few records from a vender in the park we went got some backwoods and headed to the studio he was staying where they had a MP 2_G XL so i started chopping up his records on a shitty portable vestax turntable... jus raw..no jimmy....
3 backwoods later i came up with the first beat and the interlude was just comedy to me......3rd joint he came up with the drums and i added on.... its been a few weeks and today is the first day i heard these joints... there knocking... hella raw.....so as we enter Mercury Retrograde and folks lose they minds...i present to you Mercury RetroFADED...
