Molly started cutting her teeth on vinyl back in the early 00's and has been a staple in Calgary's dance community ever since. Influenced early on by the breakbeat sound Molly set her sights on just that, breaks and has had the oppurtunity to open for such legendary international acts as; The Funk Hunters, Fort Knox 5, Rumpus, A Tribe Called Red, Smalltown DJ's, Neon Steve, K.Lab, Deekline, SIVZ and A.Skillz to name a few. Her years of passion and dedication to growing a strong and vibrant female DJ community through her work with Girls On Decks (est.2003) has solidified her reputaion as a true leader, and a talented local artist and community activist.
Throughout her career, MollyFi has collaborated with prestigious organizations such as the Calgary Flames Hockey, where she has served as the pregame warm-up DJ, as well as the Calgary Stampede, Calgary Pride, National Music Centre, Cirque de la Nuit, Telus Spark, Contemporary Calgary and The Calgary Surge basketball team.
Molly's musical style is a vibrant fusion of 90s dance, breakbeat, house music, funk, and Taylor. Yes, Swift. As an unapologetic "Gay Swiftie," Molly has found a niche and integrated Swift's music into her notorious "All Tay" DJ sets, captivating hundreds of fans at sold-out Swift dance parties throughout western canada.
However, one of the highlights of MollyFi's career was her debut performance at the legendary Shambhala music festival in 2019, where she took stage in the Fractal Forest. This opportunity further propelled her career and cemented her status as a sought-after DJ gaining her a spot in DJ Mags up and coming for 2019 and was invited back to the funkiest place on earth for 2023. She continues to captivate audiences and deliver unforgettable experiences at popular events, clubs and festivals in western Canada.
Currently you can catch Molly weekly at Calgary's only dedicated roller rink, House Of Skate where she holds a residency friday nights in a funk infused open format style.
