Le projet qu’on m’a commandé pour les Festes Baroques, consistait à créer une composition qui établisse un dialogue entre musique baroque et production sonore contemporaine.

Dans cette création, j’ai cherché à rejouer certaines structures tonales propres au baroque, tout en les faisant évoluer vers une forme de composition modale. Ce qui m’intéresse profondément dans la musique, c’est la narration, et ce dialogue entre les époques et les langages musicaux, m’a tout de suite attiré. Pour détourner certains accords baroques classiques, j’ai choisi d’utiliser des modes pan-méditerranéens et des micro-intervalles ou micro-tons. À l’inverse, certaines parties conservent des mélodies d’inspiration classique, mais interprétées par des instruments non occidentaux, comme le oud. Je me suis aussi interrogé sur la question de la narration rythmique, car le rythme tel qu’on l’entend aujourd’hui est assez absent de la musique baroque. Cela m’a amené à travailler autour de la répétition, de la densité sonore, et à interroger la façon dont on perçoit le temps dans une pièce. 

Cette pièce a donc été un long mais passionnant périple.

قطعه سوز و گداز – دونوازی تار علی چولایی و پیانو ادیب قربانی .
سوز و گذاز نیمه‌بداهه‌ای از علی چولایی و ادیب قربانی و حاصل غم فقدان دوستی ست که به مرگ خودخواسته از دنیا رفت.

راهشان دور نبود، ولی از مجموعه جاهایی بود که در زندگی یا مدتی فشرده و مدام به آن سر میزنی یا اصلا صد سال یک بار گذارت نمی افتد، برای همین هم بود که هر بار چیزی در مسیر نسبت به قبل عوض شده بود، خوب به چشم می آمد. دم در ایستادم، از شلختگی درختهایی که از خانه ی قدیمی و بزرگشان بیرون زده بود معلوم بود خانه مدتهاست بی دلسوز مانده. در ِ بزرگِ فلزیشان شل و ول تر از همیشه بود، هر چه در زدم در را باز نکردند، داد زدم “شهلا خانوم” باز جوابی نیامد، به در تکیه دادم، در با سر و صدای زیاد لق خورد، صدای سگ همسایه شان بلند شد. خانه از آنچه فکر میکردم کهنه تر و دخمه تر شده بود، طبیعی بود، از وقتی حمید پسر همین شهلا خانوم از بین رفته بود دیگر کسی حال و حوصله ی جمع و جور کردن وضعیت آن خانه ی به آن بزرگی را نداشت. همسایه شان آمد، غر زد که چرا بعد مرگ حمید دیر به دیر می آیم. دعوتم کرد به خانه شان، گفتم آمده ام خاله شهلا را ببینم، ساکت شد، بدون حرف زدن کمی نگاهم کرد، برگشت و همانطور که به سمت در خانه ی خودشان میرفت فاتحه میخواند. کنار در خانه ی حمید و خاله شهلا ایستادم، کوچه خیلی ساکت شد، طبیعی بود، کلافه شدم، به در تکیه دادم،صدایش بلند شد و صدای سگ همسایه پشتش، دٓر که ساکت شد دوباره با کمرم ضربه ای دیگر زدم، ساکت که شد، دوباره شروع کردم…
