LAURA SEBASTIANES.
Laura Sebastianes is a visual artist based in Barcelona. Her work is mainly in the sculptural field, but she also works with video and text. Her most recent sculptural practice has a very objectual character, with special interest in the place of the affective, emotional or sensorial in art; a reflective approach that revolves around the functional nature of the sculpture itself. This approach to the sculptural object has to do with the need to generate a context open to tactile, physical and sound experimentation that sometimes extends beyond its own materiality or meanings. Laura also has a special interest in reconnecting with manual work and deepening those practices that throughout history have been linked to care, pedagogy, socialization and the transmission of knowledge (orality, crafts).

“I created this 3 deck vinyl Dub mixtape in an associative process with sculptural artist Laura Sebastianes. The audio-visual piece could be understood as a dialog between our artistic mediums, which are music and sculpturing. In this particular work the mediums were formed by Dub music and water, two components which are often associated with each other and there for have a cultural link between them.”

As a label based in North America, we have witnessed the continued complicity of our governments in the genocide against innocent Palestinian lives. We believe this compilation is a collection of music that was produced and chosen with heart, contemplation, and shared frustration.

The organization we have chosen to donate proceeds of the compilation is The Palestine Children's Relief Fund. They offer free medical care to injured and ill children in Palestine, including Gaza, who lack local access to care within the existing healthcare system. The Palestine Children's Relief Fund holds a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator and a Silver Seal of Transparency from GuideStar.

I will be pondering about this topic for a long time, which seemed to me so clear and understandable in the past. I will forever wonder and admire such creature as «human»,  who can turn from the closest to the most unknown and distant person for you in one moment . I will endlessly study such unknown purple cloud called "acceptance." Acceptance of a person in any form of communication.

I haven’t told sound stories for a long time, but it seems that the time has come to return to this. A personal story about difficult and deep experiences, acceptance, alienation from once close people, discussions about friendship, mutual respect, absence or presence of love.
